I think the only person you can blame is Chy himself. He had everything; a succesful business, customer loyalty and good reputation. He has over the past few years systematically destroyed all of the above and left a trail of disgruntled people in his wake. I don't know what the reasons for this are; personal issues, financial problems or maybe he was just hoodwinking folk.
I have in the past defended Chy as my personal experience was good, thankfully I only used him for minor things like oil service and gauge fitting. These were done without any problems and at a reasonable cost.
Ultimately the chickens have come to roost and now Chy has seemingly alienated even his staunchest allies. What an utter prat!

I think it was 2 engines that blew up. And i don't know if you remember the post by someone on here, that saw peters first engine at chy's that blew up, and chy denied that the engine was there, he said that the engine was still in the car, and it was fine. LMFAO. Your lucky if these engines had done 30 hard miles on them.

not as much as mine did mate.1 litre to every 100 miles.it was so bad that i had to fit 2 oil catch tanks as there was so much oil being blown through.it was a standing joke that everytime i filled up with petrol i needed to fill up with oil too.

Yours is truly a shocking story. Well done on keeping the faith and sticking with Scooby's, I think what you went through would have put many off

yes the only person to blame for the horendously shoddy work is chy himself.but then there is everything else that comes with it.like a wrecked homelife, days off work, even more money wasted and so on.yes thats still chy's fault, but when i came on here and all i got from people like banny and even yourself was basically chy carnt do no wrong blah blah blah, and making out its me thats to blame when all i wanted was a car that ran properly for the thousands i had spent on it,didnt help at all.and now after all this time your now calling him the prat.at the end of the day,i was trying to air my views so that others would benifit.i wasnt trying to do chy out of buisness as he was slowly but surely doing that himself.

Maybe the power desired by people overtook his abilities. It seemed he used to have a good reputation but a few customers wanting something out of his comfort zone probably put the pressure on. It almost sounds like he became a victim of his own success.

it wasnt success mate,it just took time for all the failures to start cropping up thats all.chy had a good way of making people keep things quiet.i even fell for that one myself untill i had just had enough.then couple that with the people that were bigging him up all the time when really all that had done is minor work and he soon gets a good name.little does everyone know whats really happening behind closed doors.

I had two Pennine failures, first engine did 1200 miles and 3 laps of Castle coombe before putting a rod through the block, 2nd did 1100 miles before the head gasket let go at Surrey Rolling Road. BUT he did lend me a built EJ257 that features in my youtube videos. I also got my money back in the end.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and yes things were said which maybe shouldn't have been but we live and learn. At the end of the day you've been proven right and Chy has run out of people to stick by him. It may be of little comfort but it looks like Chy's indiscretions are finally catching up with him.

warranty
yes he did give a warranty.he said bring it back and he'll sort it.which i did and did and did.did it ever get sorted,no it just went from bad to even worse.the only reason why i didnt ever go back down and chase it all up after it failed for the third time was because i had about the same trouble for the next year with the other set of numptys, where i took the car to.the only saving grace was that they did pay out for there mistakes and i got 95% of the money back from them.so basically after 2 years of going through hell on earth i just couldnt be arsed to go back down to chys.and tbh if i had of done at that point i would probably still be in jail by now.so its better off left alone as now,as i have now got a motor that has been built by someone who does know what there doing and ive got the smile back on my face which should have been there many years ago.

Jag's car definately didn't let go (at anytime), to be fair engine wise its always seemed fairly healthy.........
