If its a old Disco (Disco 1 or Disco II ), there should be plenty of space underneath to fit another fuel tank, pipe it up and use that with a stealth filler in the boot (or even put the fuel tank in the boot).
Easier way maybe a door pin switch on teh filler flap to trigger an alarm, or even as a trigger for CCTV device aiming out the side windows. Obviously the alarm needs a good siren not the usual limp wristed standard stuff, my weapon of choice would be a Master Blaster 127, like on my house (its that loud it blurs my vision ), unfortunately its 230volts, so would need an inverter to work on a car, unless you can get a similar 12volt version
Nastier way would be to fit a few windcreen washer nozzles behind the fuel filler flap, operated by a pin switch and run it to a washer bottle and pump filled with something nice, like ****, pepper spray or if your are really nasty, caustic soda, ammonia or acid. Of course I would never condone doing that
Our old 7.5ton tipper has a thick steel plate anti-pikey device welded over the tank to stop fuel being nicked...the only way to get access to the tank was to lift the tipper body by a few degrees to uncover the filler.
Pain in the **** when there was a ton of gravel on the back And I'm pretty sure Health and Safety would not be impressed, as if the tipper ram leaked or a seal failed whilst filling, you'd have a few tons of tipper body slicing your hand off.

Removes all lubrication v.quickly.
Normally all the soft metals ie shells get ripped to bits.
Very effective.
I have stripped a engine down after this and it was carnage.
On the plus side it made my hands soft. lol

Its highly corrosive, so corrodes alloy. Contains degreasers to break up the oil (i.e fuel), so anything lubricated is fubard, and its also a good emulsifier, so mixing it with water will allow it all to mix with the diesel which will then allow anything made from steel to rust.
Put it this way.. fairy liquid and water will remove oil-based paint thinners from a brush with ease (mineral turps and white spirit is a crude oil based product, like diesel). Its also fetched the chrome off on the slide-out rack in our new fitted kitchen

The main ingredient in washing up liquid is the same as diswasher tablets - it's salt. that's why you never wash a car with the stuff.
As for fingerprints. I can't believe that no-one has pointed out that tea leaves are generally aware of this method of law enforcement and will usually wear gloves, especially messing with something like this. That said, they might be really really thick and well known to the cops.
If it has been that regular, it has to be some one local. Got any travellers arrived nearby? I'm purely interested, I wouldn't dare to suggest a connection if there is. That would be racist or soemthing.

I'd have printed off pics of him in the act with his name and address and posted them all over the neighbourhood warning others of his antics, and hopefully embarrassing him to leave the area. Then kicked the crap out of him as he walked home from the pub one dark night.

So today I purchased a 4 camera cctv system, a fuel cap alarm and a locking filler cap, For sure it will be someone who lives with in a hundred yards and I am so looking forward to finding out who it is..

To me there is only 2 options. Get a cheap .22 for £30 and pretend your a sniper for the week. Wait and wait, then when he arrives one in the leg and make him drink so diesel. Or get what is easily THE greatest security device in the history of the universe.. A paintball sentry gun.. My mate bought on from America for a few hundred quid. It's basically a bipod, a camera, a paintball gun, some servo's and a laptop all wired together. People kept breaking into his garage and taking tools and beer so imagine there suprise when they lifted the garage doors open to a paintball target recognition system. It shoots anything that moves and when your a sadistic sod like him and put the paintballs in the freezer for a few hours first.. Well lots of pain.

How does the alarm work then? Just a beeper on the cap itself, or is it remote to something you have in your house?

Is basically a motion sensor thing that beeps like a rape alarm when it is moved, it has a nice high pitch so it will send the dogs mental even if I don't hear it before who ever it is rips it off the insude of the cap and stamps on it.

PIR Sensor wired to a buzzer near your bed so you can have a look out when its happening, susecpt your cctv will help but generally theives like this are like Magpies and the slightest uneasiness you wont see them again.

No signs of anything since the cctv but some random white van drive past slowly at 0220 then drove up to the end of the street turrned around, waited for ten minutes then drove off I actually watched the CCTV on fast forward from the whole night and its strangely addictive.

Would love to splice in some footage of Ooompa Loompas nicking diesel to freak you out !
My brother got his car done, luckily he had only, decided that night he couldnt be arsed going to the petrol station and it was really on fumes, they must have got about a litre, then a few months later someone set fire to next doors car on their drive, he was out at 2am damping down their garage to stop the house burning down with a hose, its a nice area as well.

This is an urban myth, freezing paintballs actually makes the gelatin case more brittle and likely to burst in the breach or barrel before impact. Tell your mate to by a box of dxs frostbite paintballs, these are designed for colder weather and have a harder shell.,absolutely kill in the summer months .!:'(
