I've had a scooby since 1999 and for the first maybe 7 or 8 years I'd wave and would get a wave back but the last few years it's only about half who wave back, but tbh it's mainly classic owners who wave and very few new age. In fact a lot of new age owners look at you as if you've **** on their doorsteps when you wave so I'm not arsed waving at them anymore :-)

Just been out in the scoob, see a sportwagon stickered up , 2nd car in the queue waiting at the roundabout, he is looking right in my direction - so i threw a little wave out there and..................nothing, it think i must have been driving an invisible scoob

Use to enjoy all the waving when first got the scooby but in the end just become sick of feeling like a tit if the other driver does not wave back, also its knid off embarassing if your with passengers waving at other motorists

Hmmmm.....
Back in the 90's even the cops gave you a knowing nod, as stated they were (mostly) enthusiasts cars back then. Once I bought my bugeye the classics were too "classic" to notice it.
Then the Blob brought the "buy it for the wife to get to work during the week syndrome" so a flash brought only a call to the police
Now it's hard to tell who has one, I can't remember the last time I saw one !
dunx

I usually try and wave.. usually I wave at someone and then don't get a wave back.. so the next time I come across one I don't bother.. and then they wave at me as they're going past and I feel really bad for being too surprised to wave back!
Then the next time they won't wave..
It's a vicious cycle . Nice feeling like you're part of an exclusive club though :3

Always wave, 50/50 for a wave back.
If mrs ex vauxhall is with me, and someone waves and i miss it, then i usually get the following conversation, "who was that" from her, who was what love, that car that passed waved who was that, i don't fecking know love , but they waved, i didnt see it love, they must know you, i dont know love i didnt see it, you must have seen it, they waved, ffs love give it a rest.
lol
Suffice to say i do try and leave her at home if at all possible

I had an evo driver waving at me the other day, which I thought was nice: Scooby's and Evos are the same sort of car really as far as I'm concerned (expensive and fast lol) so fair play to him

i suppose i could do with a car that stands out a bit more
i've had it over 3 years and at first i always got a wave back, but it's very rare now. i think the wave is dying off

In Scunny I find most the classics have dropped into chav ownership, so we're talking huooj afermarket spoilers, cereal box bodykits and obligatory lexus lights. I rarely wave at any classic Impreza's now as the knuckle dragger driving it prolly thinks he's the coolest on the road in his council estate Ferrari.
I tend to get more Blobeye owners give a flick off the steering wheel.
Back in 2006 it was much different but the Subaru brand had more creditability back then.
I drive a classic wagon by the way.

Only had me scoob 6 months, a nod or a flash seems the norm. Never had anything like that in the Civic Type R, too blending in "the norm". Blue with gold rims seems to be easier to spot - whodathought!
