+1! Plus Sky is owned by Jeremy Daroch not Murdoch! Has everyone downloaded the Sky F1 app too? Can't wait for it all to start, Sky's coverage is going to be immense!*

Its a shame BBC have decided they cant afford to show F1 as sole channel. Why on earth dont they can that waste of time the Parliament Channel instead?

However I have SKY HD plus a cracking new Sony LED TV so I'm looking forward to the expected great coverage.

All races will be on BBC but some races will not be live. Pity they lost Brundle though.

Yes I think you are right Chip, but it is the quality of the re-broadcast that counts. I have been told that Sky and ITV use more of the available bandwidth

Looking forward to the launch, Sky will do an excellent job of F1 I think. Should be the best coverage we have ever had

No, that's why Sky made a complete new channel for it instead of using current platforms like Sky Sports 1,2 so the likes of Virgin or BT couldn't jump on the bandwagon, Sky arnt daft!

In relation to the host broadcaster, i was told via internal comms that Sky will have there own team to provide reliable coverage using the latest high definition cameras!

Can you tell I work for Sky yet! I'm a corporate sl@g!*

I guess I'll have to give this place a miss too, since some people can't help posting the result.
That'll be the good old days then

What's funny about that? I bought a motorised dish system in 1993 so I could watch Mansell win the Indycar championship live

Looking forward to Sky's coverage, should be good. As for lining Murdoch's pockets I couldn't care less. TV is 10 times better now than before SKY came along as they have invested billions.

Thanks thats good to know. Sky HD is certainly an improvement on the BBC version. I think the BBC use the cheapest equipment thats going. You can see the difference.

I'm looking forward to the documentaries mid week more than the races I think! What's going to make the biggest improvements race day is more advanced camera angles and better analysis!

Ha ha, well I'm a share holder too, does that mean the ex wife won't get Sky out of principal because it lines my pockets. I can't understand why an average Joe Blogg wouldn't have Sky because of Murdoch, who cares!*

Why does everyone get on their high horse about sky - BBC couldn't afford to show it so Sky is showing it there wasn't anything underhanded! Sky will blow BBC coverage out the park - look what they did with the football! I have sky so will get it free anyway but if I didn't I would of got sky just for it - highlights are just not the same. Some of the previews look amazing - if you are a proper f1 fan you will need to get it!

Does anyone have a 3D that will convert 2D to 3D?

If so, what does it look like?

Looks like I've switched from Virgin back to Sky just in time! Although not liking the line up for Sky presenters though, but will give them a try.

I prefer BTCC/WRC over F1 anyway.

It looks like watching a load of cardboard cut-outs. The technology is good enough to work out the relative depth of different objects, but not good enough to give any depth to the objects themselves. There are similar issues with some stuff that is broadcast as 3D, you can tell it was originally shot in 2D then converted.

So, are Sky showing all the sessions on all the race weekends, or just on the weekends the BBC don't have?
