Sad to say, but I really think it's time for me to leave the forum.

In the past, I've been crying with laughter in here. Not any more. There were some really amusing, witty characters. There used to be a nice atmosphere, but now there some seems to be too much point-scoring and aggressiveness.
I'm another one who comes in every day, but reads more than posts now (although obviously, there will be those who would say that was a good thing! ).

people come and people go, it is always sad when a long timer has left but no one will be around forever, I haven't been here as long as some of those but it is true that it has changed on here for me it has been since IB took over, I always thought the infraction fiasco was quite comical and it did show a few things like how power hungry some people are. We also still have the same team in place so that may be why.

Times have changed.
Like many forums, this one is slowly dying just like the brand that spawned it (Subaru for the ignorant).
The new management did not help very much.
Even nasioc is not what it used to be.

I wish it actually was dramatic. I did the dramatic bit five years ago but came back. It's a whimper, now. Nobody likes the new Subaru, the middle-era scoobs didn't sell in sufficient numbers to count and the Mk1s are all rotting away, even mine.

Been a member since 1998 (under another name). Hardly post now. Miss the old characters, and now fed up with the new breed of Impreza owning dummies that can't even type.

Or to define it otherwise: shifting responsibility and culpability onto 'the community'.
Now in the ideal world the community with infraction powers would rid the forum of all those nasty users, great...self-regulation = eutopia. Yeah, right, on paper it may have seemed brilliant, but the problem is people used it to rid the forum of people who they simply didn't like or disagreed with, it was abused, used for vendettas and wasn't regulated properly, the result is the place was like treading on eggshells. Plus the lack of regulation on pseudonyms made it pointless anyway (i.e get banned, just register a new account and carry on as before, easy).
Ironically those users who had the better judgement to issue infractions as appropriate rarely did so, as many didn't agree with the way it was handled or misused by others (me included - I made a point of not using it). Even today I hate using it as it tends to inflare and cause more enragement and dimmy spitting, but sometimes it has to be done. The difference today is I'm accountable for it, you know I issued it as it has my name as the issuer, so I am answerable to it, whereas before it was an uncontrolled anonymous free for all.

Bubba If Sara had posted this thread you would have gone off on one
Snet changes with the times. Good posters come and go. Granted there are some serious bores on here now, but ignore is a wonderful button.
Muppets was killed not just by SDB,but my someone who was so flaming nasty, it was unreal. Mr copy and paste. And you know who he was.
I am sticking with SN as I find PH boring.

And now the end is near
And so I face some velour curtains
Your friend with massive ears
I'll state my case, like Richard Burton
I've lived a life that's full
I once appeared on Secombe's "Highway"
And more, much more than this
I didn't turn gay
Regrets I've had a few
I guess, her name, I shouldn't mention
I did what I must do
And saw it through without conception
I stumbled each charted course
Each mincing step along the byway
And more, WAY more than this
I didn't turn gay
Yes there were times within The Hutch
When grammar failed to matter much
But through it all when there was doubt
We'd chew them up and spit them out,
We faced it all,
And we stood tall (not so much in my case) and did it OUUUUUR way
We've loved, We've laughed and cried
We've had our fill, our share of drinking
And now as Scoobs get cheap
We find it all just so depressing
To think I'm still not fat
And may I say not even slightly
Oh no, oh no, not me
I did it my weigh
What is a muppet, what's it entail?
A sense of humour and an innate sense of iambic pentameter
To say the first thing that comes out your mouth no matter how offensive or the threat of infraction (WTF was that all about BTW)
Not the words of someone who thinks that funny is some joke about darkies that their mate Barry emailed them (sorry I got lost at this point)
The record shows we took the bows
And did it OUUUUUUR way
Yes it was OUUUURRR way
Congrats on your 60k, Geoof. I shall now start posting again now you're leaving

What I find funny is people moaning how shît it is but put no effort in making good threads.
You think they're going to pop up out of thin air?
*choo choo*
What's that?
It's the bandwagon everybody on quick!

Only joking, dont know why anyone has to leave or stop, it kind of makes a big deal out of nothing and it makes it more difficult to post in the future as people will again make a big deal out of it. Its like saying you are a vegatarian, then people get on your case when you have a crafty burger.
And 60k posts, going cold turkey, that will be difficult, I may post a really interesting series of threads soon and you will be precluding yourself fromt he witty banter, pithy comment and general bollocks.
If you want to feel the love for a while, I am happy to lend you my username and password for an hour or two

Nice one, Onan!
