I run My UK 98 model on 95 without any problems asked the dealer what difference it would make and he told me it was a personal thing.........I too would like to know what differance it would make and do I do it straight away or mix half and half.
Cheers

Jon,
No hard evidence? What about the fact that Prodrive quote higher power figures for new age PPP running on Super than on NUL.....
Also, here is some more hard evidence, Optimax Dyno Thread

As matt mentioned Prodrive have a graph for the MY01 PPP and the difference between 95RON and 97RON is around 5 bhp (can't remember if this is pre or post PPP) so optimax I'd imagine would be as good if not better.

My Puglet likes Optimax, or indeed SUL of any kind. It pulls harder and sounds smoother, perhaps due to a little detonation on 95 unleaded (Heavily skimmed head).
I'm sticking to SUL and Optimax when I can get it - there's not a Shell garage for miles round here

I have MY95 uk turbo.
1st dyno test - scoobysport b/b, 95RON
227bhp / 202 lbs/ft......6740 rpm
2nd dyno test - scoobyspost b/b, decat center section, Optimax
243bhp / 220 lbs/ft......6600 rpm
the line at the 2nd test is much smoother!!!
if you want I can scan the graphs
(let me know by mail)

I also just finished reading the Optimax test in this months EVO and they agree that it gives a small amount of performance increase. Have a read, it's very interesting.....

M8,
Hopefully a few more years of bike riding will enable you to *not* pucker up at the sight of sharp bends and slippery patches on the road.....it took me a good 10 years to overcome that instinct (along with the nasty instinct to brake when you think you're going too fast into a corner and not closing the throttle when the rear starts to slide/front bars start to "slap")![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
