Very sad news - Bob Iles

Good idea on the reunion, what about a bob tilt around the high street lol. I'm sure could could get some big rubber pretend cactuses
I have got permission to use the RB5 on the day and will be there, to remember a truly inspiring character.....
Makes me wonder where all the time has gone, and why do we all lose touch.
Phill
Ps anyone heard from big bear lately, his anti lag would be lovely on Canford lane!! Bob would love it, can see him smiling now

Moved onto the RB5 a few years later, and still got her. My misses uses it everyday now, but I still get to drive her sometimes if I'm a good boy.
Was thinking about the meets we used to have last night, and had a few laughs

Update....
I have to say that it was the best funeral I have ever been to. Ceratainly a celebration of his life which is clearly what the family wanted.
The guy reading the service, I thought was just fantastic, with a great mixture of humour (Bob would have loved that..) and obviously sadness at the loss.
His words to sum up Bob in a younger life stick with me.....Bob enjoyed his time at school even though he got the cane every week ! and they called him an "air head", but that was because he was looking for his Pigeons out of the window......classic !!
RIP Bob
I was lucky to be one of the early SW brigade and met up with him in 98' on his Subaru journey....

Sorry to hear the news about Bob, i remember Bob from the early days, I only met him the once i think, at the powerstation rolling road day that a lot of the early engine tuners turned up to, when the target was to crack the magic 300BHP on our chocolate engines.
Best wishes to Bob's family and friends.

Just seen this and genuinely shocked.
Bob was a freaking nutter and could show the young uns a few things back in the day.
I always loved his attitude of getting it done. I didnt like his driving, he is the only one of three people who have scared the crap out of me driving. One other is the one who posted before me and the other is the also late Pentti Airikkala.
Rest in peace Bob. One of the old school.
Cheers
Ian.
