read the comments properly first before commenting as the reply was about the fact he stated i know nothing about driving not that i know nothing about formula 1...
and as normal the scoobynet trolls slag people off at the first chance.this site is getting full of idiots that hhave either no sense of humour or throw crap at people if they dont agree with what they say.
now im off for a drive in the sun if i can remember how as i supposidly know nothing about driving....

And you say we can't take a joke!

You justified your comment about F1 driver's being wimps for not driving in conditions that were physically impossible to navigate, by saying that you know about driving from being a trained driver in the Army.
Come on, you must be able to laugh at that? Just a little?

I would say if you have ever competed / raced even in an amateur capacity then you probably have a better idea at how good you have to be to even get into F1 let alone do well at it.
As for myself other than a bit of karting and the odd supercar track drive, then I have very little personal experience to relate to.
I did sit in an E92 M3 with Tiff Needell for 3 laps at Thruxton and couldnt believe how he kept that car so under control at such speeds (first lap when we were almost facing 90 degrees into a field I thought he actually had lost it) whilst talking to me like he was just out for a casual sunday drive

I have competed in god knows how many karting sessions/races at my local kart track (Buckmore) including sprint and endurance races. I am not saying I am the best driver out there, but I know how to handle myself on the track.
One experience that will stick with me is a charity endurance karting event that I did. It was supposed to be me and a friend but my friend pulled out at the last minute with a collapsed lung (*****!) so I ended up doing the full 2hr race and 30min qualifying session on my own, at night, in torrential rain........on slick tyres on a grid of 40 other karts!

I don't know what driving an F1 car feels like. I can only guess and then multiply that by 10 probably! But I do know what racing in atrocious whether feels like when you think that you are going to crash every second of every lap with next to no visability, cramp in every part of your body with mud, rain, grit and rubber filling your eyes more and more every lap.
So no, I don't agree that everyone on here has more or less the same level of understanding of motor racing. Some of us have had a taste of what 'real' racing is about. Others buy a fast road car and think that they are Michael Schumacher.

i am not good enough to be an f1 driver and to be honest wouldnt want to be as would have loved the chance to do btcc.

I was lucky enough to go to the Silverstone Race School back in 2003 (21st Birthday present!) for a week and competed in two Formula Ford events at the end, which I came 2nd and 1st (on pole for both put fluffed the start in race 1
). I also came 2nd out of 40 in the race school kart race at the end of training.

What I'd really like to know, is if Sky's F1 coverage is so good, why do they show the BBC highlight's show on their dedicated channel?
I had to stop scrolling through the EPG and double-check, but there it was - Highlights presented by Jake Humphrey.
