Cheers Mark

Update:

Well after knowing that my car will be off the road for a week or so while the work in undertaken, I though I may as well find another way to commute to work (use to car share), so I got myself several Aps on the phone and started using my legs for a change LOL

From door to door its 2.0 miles to work over cross country and some rocky terrain, started off at 30mins gentle walk to 20mins gentle jogging/walking, and its been bloody HOT this week. Anyway that aside with confidence of the challenges at 5am and 10pm in muddy fields it turns out my mapper is unavailable until mid June LOL (and Doh)

So the work and mapping has been put off for 2 weeks or so.

In the mean time Im going to get my headers (Tommie) looked at, and maybe re-worked for better flow and strength as well as wrapped. Downpipe (decat) also being work on and my silicon intake pipe has arrived

New three port boost solenoid still not here after 10 days! grrrrrr

New Headlights arrived this morning, which will be forwarded to Ryan next week

Also looking at other option whilst I have an extra bit of time, ie I might fit my Oil Catch Can too, and possible thinking of fitting some other lightweight products, yet to be sourced, such as battery, pulleys, etc.

Im also wondering whether to go with an APS TMIC if I can source one

Over and out for now.

Rob

DS Automotive in Aylesbury are an APS dealer. They may be able to help. Used them a few times. Believe they have one bolted to a dummy engine in their shop.

Since posting this lastnight, I was looking on other US forums, and it seems by going from what they say about the APS TMIC there is little difference, or no gain to be had over the standard STI TMIC, and that as far as TMIC goes, the STI one is about as good as you get

So If I retain the current intercooler Im going to be stuck at 400-420 ish horses which I suppose is fine for the road. hmmmm Whilst I have a little time on my hands I may look at a FMIC set up, which if Im honest is a road I didnt want to go down at this stage.....

Time to do some more digging

having the same car as you rob and going down a similar route i have no choice but to fit a fmic.
i looked at other tmic and came to the same conclusion as you, the sti one is the best and if your going to spend on an upgrade fmic is the only option.
im getting a black one and as i have zunsport grilles it should be unseen.
i have an sc46 turbo and am hoping for 420 plus bhp

I looked at the SC46 whilst browsing yesterday, and I couldnt help notice this on their website:

Developed for engines over 2.0 ltr. i.e 2.1, 2.2, 2.5.

I'd agree, there will be no financial benefit as the APS top mount will cost the same as a FMIC kit anyhow. I'd say stick with STI TMIC and then go FMIC presonally.

Not had chance yet John, weather is too nice for me to find an excuse to get away from kids duties , putting up trampolines, going to the park, Bbq is all taking preference, with a trip to the zoo tomorrow

When is your reg likely to be transferred over?

I finish work Monday at 3pm, so the plan is to do it then as the Mrs isnt working (fingers crossed)

I see from your first post Rob you are going to get it mapped with 20% meths . Your not going to try vpower only first ?

Nope lol !

Been there with before and I felt the difference, so it's a no brainier for me, plus it helps the 20g spool

It's likely I'll have switchable maps anyway, one 99, the other 20% meth.

Rob

Ps did I forget to say I've still got 40L of meth in the garage.

I was hoping to race this year, but its not likely to happen so all the parts associated to this bar the ones Im well and truly started to collect for power gains will be sold on. Ive got to move out of my house in a month to have some work done on it, so thats costing me a fortune, plus Im getting wed in July

Stainless Tommie Headers
3" Exhaust (one of two (DC & GGR), not decided which to keep yet)
Brand New VF34
2 used VF35's (both prov sold)
STI pinks coming off my STI soon
STI Up pipe coming off my car soon
Set of 17" Rota Gra's as I wont be racing this year
WRC Tarmac tyres "" """
Plenty other parts too, STI heater controls, speedo, AVCS heads, STI 8 bottom end, alternators, pumps, sensors, STI9 Wheels, body panels,

No 18" road legal tyres soory, but try camskill or "click tyers"

I know what your saying, I never thought I would be the married type, but I took a serious unexpected hit 12 yrs ago and it changed me. A lot!
