I have a right dilemma now, as a car that I once tried to buy local to me has popped back up for sale so I found out this morning, and the only way I can justify and really afford it would be to sell this one first........ arrrgh

I'm going to try and contact and see him today, and if all goes ahead I will be putting this up for sale, along with all the goodies I have bought as they wont be needed (doh).

I'll report back either way (fingers crossed)

Lol.... Bank balance feeling it now, may need to get some overtime done

Car looking to be with the mechanic next week, and mapped following week!

Decided to make a start on some simple jobs myself, starting with the induction. Fog cover first as it can be done indoors (pesky rain)

Destickered and Cut ready.

Trial fit, yet to black siliconed in place.

Well I finally got round to unwrapping my new headers

Fitted both de-stickered fog covers, and trumpet is now siliconed in place, also "black stuff"ed the plastics.

Splitter is now well and truly wrecked, will be removed when the car goes on the ramp. Its now broken completely in two, and has dozens of stress fractures all around now. PU replacement on the cards.

Update:

Good news, I finally got round to dropping the car off at the garage today, looks like the work will start tomorrow all being well, then I can get the Brembo's and other goodies posted out to those that have bought them

Andrew Carr back Wednesday, so mapping will likely be early next week!

Ksport 8 Pots also arrived today, so they have been dropped off with the car too

Bad news, I forgot to buy some gaskets for the headers and inlet manifold ;(

Rob

ps - I have been handed a courtesy car which is quite a nice machine, its up for sale by the guy doing the work, so I said I would post it up on here on his behalf. Its a MY99 classic wagon with some nice goodies (hawk steering wheel, 4 pots etc) all for £1700 firm with 6 months tax and MOT. Drive like a dream and the body work is in excellent order. I'll get it posted up tomorrow.

Hi all.

Ok so the car is being map tweaked Wednesday (huh hmm) for some tweaks

The Ksports haven't been tested yet, and as they are running yellow stuff pads. I'll not be getting the best from them for a whole yet, but in terms of comparison to Brembos, it more of a case of what are going to be doing with your car? Heavy track use = Heavy duty brakes, no track use = no need to change, if your intermediate then Brembos are fine, Subaru 4 pots are fine too depending on the job. For the £ though, Brembos are fantastic with the right setup.

The8 pot brake Calipers are from a time attack car, the rotors and pads are new, and have been fitted by Subaru Specialist so I guess they have been done perfectly

Thanks for the positive comments guys, I'll update when I have more to tell

Regards,
Rob (disappointed England fan)

Yup, left knee, oddly it didn't hurt either ;( starting to feel it now though LOL I've had 3 knee ops , two of which sever crucial ligament reconstruction, maybe they reinforced my knee cap

Fortunately its on an easy access part of the door, so should knockout easy enough.

Update:

Andrew Carr map tweaked my car yesterday, removing flat foot shift for the time being, but it will return with some tweaks

As the car was road mapped its a bit of a speculation on the power output, but it's assumed it's over 400 from Andrew, and it now after some minor tweaks feels it

I went with a D2 Oil Catch can I bought some time ago, and an Oil Cooler is on the cards soon to make it more trackable.

I'm now on two maps, one for 99ron and the other for 99ron & 20%meth.

Antil lag and launch control fitted. ALS is very aggressive, and to be honest works very well on a few test runs, the difference is very noticeable and actually does what ALS is written to do. The launch control is equally as aggressive and spools boost up as you would expect very sharply, and bounces at around 5800rpm. I haven't actually launched the car as in releasing the clutch, the fear that the standard 46'000 clutch will not accept to the challenge!

I'm going to relocate the switches (properly install) this week, but a location is yet undecided. Map switch in the blank near the IC spray switch, and ALS in the blank DCCD switch location.

Front mount intercooler, GT Spec headers, and MD321H will still be on the cards at some point soon to aim for a nice 450bhp with early spool. A forged engine at this point is now out of consideration, as I'm just going to enjoy what I've got for 2012, well bar the above intercooler, turbo and headers that is!

Wheels are due to be changed, or maybe just a colour change? I'm casually trolling the net for some track day 18" wheels for track tyres I'm no longer able to use 17" due to the huge 356mm 8 pot ksports! (doh!)

Car now fully serviced too, so peace of mind for a while, plus it's recently been MOT'd and 12 months Tax! Jeeeezzz it's all money!!! So other than vpower and meth it's happy motoring for a while.

Anyway that's about it for now, bar dent removal and maybe some other touch ups in the next few weeks, but my main focus is all on house renovation for a while

Logging out
Rob

The small dent will removed over the next week or so, and I'm going to give her another oil change (1000 mile since last change) at which point the car will be advertised on pistonheads and eBay.

I've had a change of heart with the car, and I simply haven't time this year to do anything with it further to where I want to take it, so for that reason she is after a new home
