I can however inform you that in the oe brochure from Subaru there is no mention of the yellow car being any different from the blue or the white one......which incidently has the dark alloys aswell....the blue one has gold....they all have the roundell badge on the rear....
The book i mention and the researchers iirc also state that the car was the first to use a driver controlled centre diff...

Its not the only info in that book that is fiction...it may have been in its time the best they could do with the limited info availabe and maybe the "signature" came about in some translation era....
Untill a brochure for the "signature Edtion" materialises how can you argue with Subaru Japan...?

I haven't seen the section in the book which states the Type R was the first to get DCCD and I've read it thoroughly.
Do a search on google, the signature model is mentioned a number of times on a host of different sites. The fact that yellow V3 type R's are so rare would also suggest it being a limited run. I know of just two genuine yellow V3 type R's, one of which is on here but is now silver.
The yellow cars are no different from any other V3 type R. They all got the roundal on the back and 555 embroided seats but from what I understand the yellow cars were built in far less numbers than the others and hence the reason for a special edition name, ie- signature edition.

The white one has the dark wheels....its in the oe brochure.
The book is full of incorrect info as is google and the internet
I will stick with subaru and the oe brochure .... It was not marketed as a limited signature model by them...

Yes Matty..
Obviously there are some words in japanese that dont translate into engish as they have words which dont exist in our world...
But there is no mention of "signature" anywhere or that the yellow one is limited in any way different from the others....the white version even though not pictured has the same wheel code as the yellow version.
Just to clarify this info has not been taken from a website scan even though i pointed you to a website...pictured below are the colection of brochures which will one day be available to view in hi res copies at www.type-ra.co.uk
http://www.type-ra.co.uk/vB/showthread.php?t=12588
As for the Chris Rees book, as i said its probably the best they could do at the time with the limited info...but new and more accurate info is now accessible...
I have not read a copy but the Subaru book by Brian Long is about as good as it gets according to my source...
Hope this helps.....

i do beleive thats a type A , r-limited, v3 sti edition, super-t mate.
and a bloody good example at that
imo though the wheels need changing.
but thats just a personal subjective veiw mate - id put some kind of darker wheel on it.
apart from that its a cracker - making my silver scoob look rubbish. white is soo the colour to have.
