NO. at the very least i would say super 97ron and drive off boost. STi's need 98+ ron. 95 is no good imo. Some will say your ecu can adjust for it if its on a standard map. Maybe their right but i wouldn't risk it.

not had a turbo car for a few years now so i just put unleaded in my civic type r (ep3) and was none in east hull except for tesco 99 (momentum) and was quite suprised how cheap it is really compared to asda

Potentially YES, however the ECU should be able to detect knock and pull timing before any serious damage is done, as long as it isn't driven hard etc. The problem occurs as the fuel ignites too early; the expansion forces the piston back down before it can get past top dead centre, which can result in a lot of forces disagreeing with each other... 95 RON will ignite earlier than 98 RON because it is 'easier' to light and the heat of compression, boost etc. can actually ignite the fuel / air mix before the spark does. Higher RON fuel needs more pressure & heat before spontaneous ignition, so is better suited to cars running high pressure intakes such as ours
This is another reason why I'll be getting mine mapped on 95 RON when it gets done to give me a wider choice of fuel for events such as this. Its my daily driver, so I can't really afford for it to be out of action for too long

Maybe, maybe not. Detonation can still occur at lower revs especially if your under bonnet temps are high from being in traffic jams ect. Its more likely to occur at high revs due to cylinder pressure, heat and advanced ignition timing.

Only reason I used it was because the garage told me it was ok. After reading this I won't be using it again. This is my first turbo car and I've only had it a week. I know nothing about them
