HTC One X

Laying the Desire HD onto top of the One X, the One X is no wider and about 5-10mm longer. The market is pointing to bigger screens, the Samsung Note is really picking up in sales around the world and that is much larger still. Having handled the phone for few hours it feels fine in size.

My 2yr old Desire was out of contract last month and i've had my eye on the One X for a while. Hoping to get it on Friday/Monday. Reviews are positive.

I've been waiting for the One X for a while, but have read some things recently and now I'm undecided on One X or One S.
I know benchmarks should not be taking too literally, but the dual core krait in the One S seems to beat the Tegra 3 in almost all areas. And should use less power. It's a very slim and light phone, but the screen is not as good as the One X. The Tegra 3 has been out a while, where as the Krait is pretty new, the only problem is they have used an Adreno 225 gpu, which is not that new. Not that it's not a good gpu, but it's not quite as good as the iPhone 4S's Power VR.
Not that I want an iPhone. I just can't decide whether to go for the monster quad core X or the slimmer, smaller, but still high performance S.

How can anyone get offended by a comment regarding a mobile phone?
Is Jack really an iPhone?
Now that would be clever and make perfect sense.
Back to the phone, it does look quite big so it might not be the next phone for me. A friend of mine is getting one in the next few days so I will get to have a play with it and compare to my 'soooo' out of date Desire S.

Have had both the One X and One S in work the past few days to play with and I'll be honest the One S is the nicer phone. Much better build quality, seems to pick up signal better, battery lasts longer than the One X and the screen is the right size. Have had the Htc Titan for the last few months and the size of it does get annoying in the end and seeing as its the same size I know there'd be no point me getting one.

Do these new phones have the 'flick to tv' feature?
My friend was saying that the phone comes with a HDMI connector module and you can basically perform a 'flick' action on the phone screen and whatever you are viewing wil thenl be displayed on the tv.

HDMI connector? Bit old hat, I just stream stuff from my Galaxy S2 onto the TV via Wi-Fi using Skifta or AllShare.

I'm going to have to look at the S and X side by side I think. Is a screen that shares sub pixels that noticeably worse? Battery is not really an issue as I'm next to a pc or socket most of the day anyway. I also think, do I need a new phone? My Desire HD is on Android 4.0.3 and Sense 4 and is the best it's ever been. I don't use the phone for playing games so it does everything I want it to do. Do I really need to spend £400-£480 on a new phone?
I suppose if I did I can use this:

Looks very good, is this the galaxy s3 in a not so polished case?
Loved my desire, i've battered it at work day in day out for nearly 2 years (i'm a gas man)and its still in good shape. Unsure whether to get this or hold out for the s3...

HTC One X – SIM-free pricing
The best price we could whip up on the interwebs for the HTC Once X was £485 from Handtec, with Amazon and Play both following closely in the rear with price tags of £490 each for the handset.

Good luck taking it to a htc store if it develops a fault........
We'll see what happens when apples quad phone arrives.
Until them the comparisons are pointless.

But isn't that just technology in general? Plus other phone makers drop the price of older handsets when a newer model comes out as its just common sense. There will always be better phones coming out it just depends what you want them for.
Me personally I think phones are getting too big as when I go out I generally have to take my SGS2 out of my pocket when I sit down wearing jeans and if they are getting bigger?
My phone contract is due for renewal in June and I will get the best phone that suits me at the time be it Apple/HTC or Samsung
