First time I drove a Type R the back end was very tail happy. Move the DCCD forward and it should be fine: you need to be a real hooligan to get it to swap ends then!

Hawkeye with 475bhp and 485ft lbs of twisting action here (Toya Proxies - not my choice of tyre - they came with the car and I'm gonna use em before replacing them). Can get all 4 wheels spinning in 4th in the wet if you put your foot down; it's an eye opener the first time it happens! lol. However, the back doesn't really step out! If I put the DCCD back into fully open that might change though! Not something I'd really want to try to be honest!

was driving my dads rb5 for a couple months thru the winter, then bought myself a type r. first time i took it out to give it some i drove it the same as my dads rb5 and ended up broadside into a kerb, lift off oversteer i was expecting, lift off and back end wants to overtake the front, i was not! this was in the dry trying to drive around the outside of an evo ~ which i still did
a couple arms and we're good to go again.... once engines rebuilt anyways! frickin car, only owned it 3months!!!

Just nudge the dccd up into top of second green/bottom of orange zone when it's greasy and it's fine in my experience. My car spends 90%+ of its time with the dccd fully open (p1 450bhp/6 speed dccd).

I run Continental Sports Contacts 3 on my P1 , feels very planted in the wet , but still able to get the back to step out when needed

What is the normal front/rear split of power in a Type-R?

Type R is very different to UK Box/setup, I came from a 320BHP UK Turbo which was awesum in the wet but as said in the wet they do want to try and swap ends, So many have found out the hard way in the wet even at slow speeds

I have the conti's on my Type R, I Roll the DCCD forward a couple on the damp/wet and all the way forward in heavy rain but it can still be a handfull, can't think why

Before I got my P1 I drove an 1985 e30 Alpina C2 2.5 , even the Autocar review said the rear end was savage! Mind you that only had 186bhp , I would get myself killed if I had the same power as my P1 ( 322 / 329 ) in a tail happy car

Would you say the Type-R's are more twitchy than it's P1 cousin? I've never driven any Scooby other than my P1 and I am always warey of the "hatred" that the P1 seems to get , so I've never meet any other Scooby drivers
