A lot of what you say is pretty accurate. The one mistake you made is to admit that you have never voted in an election and that has seriously weakened your argument. If you don't bother to vote, then you lose the right to complain. Abandoning your vote will do nothing to improve matters in the Country. You may of course prefer to live under a dictatorship, instead of a pretence at a democracy as we do at the moment!

Unfortunately, this will never end so I will never vote. Where is the point? Every year, under every government, taxes and the cost of living have risen. Every year they screw us more and more. Doesn't matter what colour flag they pretend to fly as they are all as bad as each other.
Only if the BNP or some other extremist party were to gain some power would I make the effort to derail them. But as that is highly unlikely I doubt i'll ever vote.
It's not a weakness. I have the strength and conviction to realise the complete folly in voting for these idiots. Maybe 30 years ago and earlier, when there was a real difference between voting either red or blue, would it have made a difference depending on which side of the fence you stood. Now, it's just a show put on to perpetuate the cycle of power.
If you want to put a bit of paper in a box that will make absolutely no difference to how your money is spent for you or how the country is run on your behalf then be my guest.

I'd prefer to live in a democracy where the people who stand to be elected don't say one thing before an election and then do something completely different when elected.

Have you ever heard the expression, "don't hate the player; hate the game"?
of course you have
Politics is the game and I hate it - the candidates have nothing to do with it as they are all as bad as each other.
As a wise man once said, "complain with your feet" - and that's what I do.

I think what most people on here forget is that they probably take more from the tax/state regime than they put in.
The top 1% of earners pay 25% of the total tax take. So unless you fall in that category (iirc earn £150k+ pa) the chances are that you benefit by way of state schools, nhs, police, fire brigade, social services, welfare etc etc far more than you put in.

You're right. I know it's "vote with your feet" but the whole point is by not going you're complaining about the sytem, restaurant, shop - whatever it is. I thought "vote with your feet" might be misunderstood.
As for being lazy; the polling station is literally a 2 minute walk from my house. I still wouldn't vote if they held it in my front garden. Although, if it was held in my toilet I might wipe my **** on the paper as that would be useful!
It's a complete waste of time, money and paper in my opinion.
