Hi,
well done Alan, I have been watching this thread carefully as we have suffered from the same type of keyboard warriors in the past, one guy had 5 user names just to give us a kicking based on what his mate had told him, it can be very damaging to business, until of course the truth comes out.
Check out this thread from 2009, it gets good 2nd page post number 37 from Pat the map.

My 2p worth.
Alan, as a man of your experience, and what should have been a decent education back in the day's before the internet; Your maths is crap!
50,000 dyno runs wouldn't equate to 50,000 fubar'd engines!
Jeez!
Other than that, it's been an interesting read.

I think this just took me 2-3 hours to fully read and Digest lol.
Also being Local To engine Tuner, And the fact I was Owner / Chairman of South west Scoobies which at one time or another had over 1500 members..
Being it was South west Scoobies, not Midland Scoobies or something like that, we are local. Many of the Members Being from Plymouth.
South west Scoobies Had many a Rolling road Day @ ET, some were even against the MLR
I also am a Former RS turbo owner having Owned a S1 & S2
And yes i heard all the Hearsay about AJ from years ago.. but it's Just That hearsay.
People take a story, they add to it they Twist it and they Change it.. the Story which once said My mate went in with his engine rattling a little for a power run and it come out worse, easily turns into Jo's mate's mate said that his mates mate had a mate that went into Engine Tuner they put it on the rollers and they said it was ok. pletny to go yet and kept upping the Boost, the piston come through the Bonnet and nearly hit me. they said tough Luck, but we can fix it for ya, give us a blank check but hope ya have 50K in the bank to cover it. This is how hearsay gets changed, then someone changes it a little more and so on it goes.
Which is Why you should NEVER listen to hearsay just the Facts.
I should first off say I am A Self Employed Mechanic.
I had a Simtec Supplied and fitted to my 93 RA. which was running a 2.5 Engine. With Sard 740cc Injectors..TD06 20G and a load of other Spec too. Just mentioned the Injectors as the O.P did lol.
Any way Aj's done the Work for me, I dropped the car off and left it with them, so they could do cold start's Something which is Impossible to do on 1/2 day mapping session.
The car Started and Idled Spot on, Which i was Impressed with Knowing that the Simtek has issues on Idle.. Something which was mentioned already a Software Issue not Mapping.
My Business partner and customers all in the South West also have had Simtek ECU's fitted and I do not know of any that would say are unhappy with it.
I Beg to Differ. It is My opinion you are a Jumped up Idiot, with No Local Knowledge, and i find it hard to believe with your attitude that you actually know anyone or have anyone locally who is willing to associate themselves with you.
Being local, and knowing so many Scoobie owners in the South west and in Plymouth it'self, Where Many of SWS members were from I cannot count one who would actually say the same as you about Engine Tuner.
In-fact Most i know would only use them for their work.
Both Alan & Martyn Both came along with South West Scoobies to many of our Meets and events. In Plymouth, Exeter, Exmouth etc etc. It would be a Bit odd for A tuner to do this if no one who knew them locally would go to.
You are Just To Narrow minded to see this and Admit you are in the wrong.
Indeed as you Say, it is commonly considered an ECU Issue, I got lucky and never had a problem.
I guess this is One reason the new Simtek has Closed Loop Idle control.
And when My Car comes back out, with the GT30 Turbo Fitted, it will be Mapped By Martyn with a New Simtek ECU.
And i will Happily Display my Martyn Mapped it Badge and the 500+ Club Badge
Unless you know a man who has a mate with a Dog whos cat told him a story about a guy that can get my Wife's Standard WRX to push 700+ Horsies.. I am sure you will think up one.
I am Sure when you try telling us SWS Members your hearsay Story Face to Face, you may be in for a surprise, probably not a present one.
Clearly you are here making up stories, I seriously Doubt you have any of these so called friends that told you this that or the other.
As a Business Owner I would be doing as Alan has said and seek legal action against you.
Now I would walk away and do not return, unless you can Bring forward 100% cold facts with Proof to back them up. He said, or my mate said.. Will Not cut it, with us Local South West Scoobie owners or the members further afield on Scoobynet or any other community.
For any one interested A couple of Pics of my Car on the Rolling Road at a South West Scoobies RR Day. Where i believe my car Made around 383 BHP and 400 lbs/ft Torque.

Now Back to your Accusations, ET can only work with the tools before them, and withing the permission of the Owner, the Owner at the time of the Map, denys any knowledge of these issues.. So are you Just fabricating them?
I find it hard to believe, that someone so set against taking their car to said tuner would ask for their advice, as clearly it would never be good enough for you.
IMO you are a troll here to cause trouble, Perhaps you would have been better off Sticking with Your RST, better yet it may be an idea for you to go back to owning one of them.
It seems to me the Subaru Community is not for you.

down here in the southwest alans reputation isnt as shiny as it is here on the forums.
ET started from a small outfit and grew.
and from what alan has said previously, possibly cannot meet customer demands,as they have such a high workload haha.
as i live in plymouth,i would say ive heard more about engine tuner than 85% of the members on here.
along with your comments, you have used your "status" and "reputation" on scoobybet to try and bully me and get the followers on here to take your side..
and spend hours a day keeping up your internet business prospects because no-one who knows you locally will use you..

I have never used EngineTuner however when I bought my Type R from Plymouth it had a ET map & it was running sweet. The car also had Simtek & with similar idle problems, I used 3 different mappers & it could not be rectified as it's a ECU problem.
I have spoken to ET a few times & they come across very helpful, unlike many other tuners.

Unfortunately it turned out she'd been on the Poultry Forum, taking an interest in the "Speckled Sussex"
What a let down!

Hi,
well done Alan, I have been watching this thread carefully as we have suffered from the same type of keyboard warriors in the past, one guy had 5 user names just to give us a kicking based on what his mate had told him, it can be very damaging to business, until of course the truth comes out.
Check out this thread from 2009, it gets good 2nd page post number 37 from Pat the map.

I've been afk as have had other stuff to be dealing with.
Alan, the comments have been removed from wileys thread as you requested.
After checking the paperwork,i now see the dates for the printouts and as martyn has said its before the ecu was fitted.
that explains why i have a turbosmart bleed valve that isnt connected to anything..
In hindsight, i should have handled the situation differently and gone to ET direct.
although the saying goes that hindsight plays tricks on the mind..
Alan,
I thank you for your offer to still have a look over the car but i will politely decline the offer.

If I had hindsight, I'd be running X Factor, and Simon Cowell would have started out tuning cars!

so,are we going to hear the info on the car then as i and many others would like to know??

you've come on a forum and others by the sound of it, bad mouthed a respected tuner when you were obviously in the wrong.
potentially damaged his business too.
and still no "sorry im a bellend i was completely wrong"
