I agree. Every penny counts. I find it ridiculous when people drop their pennies and tuppens, and feel embarrassed to bend down to pick them. As a result, they leave them on the floor for me to pick them when they've walked away. Idiots.

I'm not sure about that, if you look at it literally. Thought alone isn't enough. You have to show one way or other what your thought is. That 'way' doesn't have to be giving expensive gifts to each other. He could just give her a cabbage, and she'll still love him.

Just give her a cabbage. 49p each in Aldi. Cheaper than the hand cream. Job done.

She can give you an onion. The tear causing one. 15p each for a red one in Aldi. Job done.

Ok, shallot, then.

I hope that's what she gives you, anyway.

Then I'll say to her- "shabaash!"

The calves liver is very good from Lidl and about half the price of other outlets.

Just waxed £12 in there on fabric softener, antibacterial hand gel and snacks. All the "own brand" biscuits are as good as the bigger money alternatives.

I've never eaten calves liver in my life. Lidl's fruit juices are good. I also bought a couple of pillows and lamps there, which were also good. Aldi's leg of lamb was absolutely delicious yesterday. Even their mint sauce was mint! Their brown sauce to go with our bacon is also now an improved recipe, so I'm all made up.

Nope.

The weirdest thing I've ever eaten is frog's legs in French restaurants.

They do sell some weird sh7t in these German stores. I'm not sure whether to try or what.

I had frogs legs for the first time on holiday this year. Tasted like slightly fishy chicken. Quite odd and I shan't be eating them again. I can recommend the kangaroo steaks from Lidl, though.

I didn't feel repulsed by frog's legs tbh. They were alright, I thought. In my review, I'd say that one has to absolutely desperate to eat effing frog's legs! I mean, there's hardly any flesh on them.

I'll go to Lidl tomorrow to buy kangaroo steaks. I went into Iceland (as seen on TV) to get them and some other weird foods, but their exotic food counter was completely sold out.

I must admit I was a little disappointed with the frogs' legs as my travel companions all tucked in to thick, juicy steaks. The kangaroo steaks are nice with garlic purée rubbed in to them, seasoned and cooked medium. Rare is a bit too bloody with these bad boys and well done makes them a little tough, but in a different way to cow. Let me know what you think. £4 for a pair.

When you two had frogs' legs, were they deep fried in breadcrumbs?

My ex, when she was little, had frogs' legs at a French restaurant (when on hol in France). When the garcon placed the plate in front of her, she burst into tears lol.

Mine were without breadcrumbs, just seasoned and sautéed. Weird.

Nice! Thanks for the tips, and will certainly have you know.

Just had Lidl's Rio D'oro orange juice with bits. Very satisfying.

Yes, mine were also that ^ way inclined, if not exactly the same, Joz.

I think that generally, breadcrumbs coated fried things are very unhealthy for you. I'm sure I eat some delicious breadcrumbs coated fried stuff sometimes, but I don't make a habit of it. Breaded mushrooms is one starter dishe that takes a pith; mainly when the stale and shrunk mushrooms have been used. They taste like the ones that sprout up on the soil where the dogs take a literal p1$$ with their one leg up. Not that I've ever tasted such mushrooms, but just imagining.

Yes, but James is not French. As an Englishman residing in Wales, him coming up with coating Australian kangaroo's flesh with garlic purée and some seasoning, and how it would taste as medium rare/well done is still quite good, I think.

Ever tried cow's urine? Not a food article, but still, orally consumed for good health; like a medicine.

Daughter's mate Sebastian asked me in India what weird things he might have to eat there. I said that there's nothing extra-ordinary weird edibles in India, as most food is vegetarian. When he saw one yogi relative drinking cow's urine before busting a few yoga moves, his eyes popped out None of us would dare trying it myself, but Sebastian did; for a laugh. Besides, he was being governed by his underlying show off tendencies as a youth- "look at me, I'm so invincible that I can even drink cow's p1$$ and survive !"

It gets sold bottled in the Ayurvedic med stores there. I'll get a small bottle for you, when I visit next. Now, you drinking that will be a challenge! As you say, you'll try just about anything.

He was just laughing his head off after tasting it, James. It stank very strong and awful. Imagine a few pi$$heads using toilet repeatedly during their hard core bender with hard liquor on rocks all night. If you walk past that gents toilet, the smell of the concentrate (urine contents combined with alcohol) will blow you away! Cow's pee stank like that. Really revolting.
