time is of no interest to me how long you have been here. The idiotic words you tried to say of scoob drivers was not in great spirit of this site matey. hang your head low ! shame on you.. i will listen for the door closing....

No, it was put in jest and lightheartedness which is how the spirit of NSR should be, jeez if that's what gets peoples backs up then I would love to have seen them around when PSL and NARCO where on here in their peak.

I wonder, do we still have an ignore feature on this site, never used it before but I think I have found the perfect opportunity

"jeez if that's what gets peoples backs up"

then you should be careful that your humour wasnt too funny for onlookers looking in. reality check/keep it real check

think before you type, assume others might not get your humour

A well sorted Elan is still pretty nippy by even today's standards.

I was first switched onto them after taking a Elan+2 130/5 for a spin after I tweeked and balanced the carbs (Twin DCOE )...130bhp, 5 speed gearbox, all-round double wishbone coil-over-shock suspesnion, and a very clever chassis design (no side impact protection though: http://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/lo...n/13/92144.jpg ).

Drove/handled like a much newer car (i.e 1980's era) than anything from the 1960's. Compared to Triumph spitfires, TR6s and MGBs it was like night and day. Some even have electric windows as standard.

And if it wasn't fast enough then a more rigid spyder chassis can be bought for a fair price and a Ford zetec 2.0 can be dropped in which on individual throttle bodies and no cat will happily give out 160bhp with matching torque without any tuning, and over 200bhp if you start messing with heads, cams, valves and pistons/rods etc.

Prices for them are getting silly though....I remember lookin a few years back and seeing quite a few Elan+2 going for around the £6K mark, today I would have to add another £10K on top of that for one in a similar condition (i.e full working order, but needing a little TLC on the body/chaissis/mechanics).

Complete waste of time and money owning more thnt one car anyway. Best to just have the one car that you really enjoy driving and make the most of that one.

Unless you just want to impress the neighbours of course!

What can I say Les, MrsD collects shoes, I collect cars and bikes

Whenever she passes comment I always quote the great Jay Leno;

"Would you rather I came home smelling of oil and grease, or cheap perfume?"
