i agree with almost all the sentiments tbh,
i just dont see it as such a major issue.
we all on here use incorrect grammer and lazyness with pmsl, lol, IIRC, SIAL ect ect, why? because were to lazy to write the full words out.
ok the "gansta" style talk is laughable - and may provoke little response, but we allstill know what it means mostly.
new words are constantly being added to our vocabulary and accepted by dictionaries.
its just it doesnt really bother me as much as it does others - and is a good excuse for a small ridiclue at times, i wont loose any sleep over other peoples posting styles tbh

Well, someone on here recenty spelt "because" not as coz (text speak), but even worse than that. He spelt it as "cors", ffs! "I didn't go racing today cors it was raining." See, how bad it looks? It looks like he never went to school any day; raining or not raining. Dyslexia, typing mistakes (also known as "typo" in contemporary slang), rushed typing while multi-tasking and creative spelling for comedy purposes are acceptable. But some just do not know how to spell simple, every day words. IMO pertinent ones should learn to spell properly.
Personally, it doesn't get my goat bleating if some people can't spell well. Its the quality of the post that counts. Thinking over it again, it does matter how people spell because if you take the "o" out of "counts" in the second sentence of this paragraph, the word will become an offensive word, and the sentence will make no sense. That's why people should try to spell correctly. Occasional mistakes are acceptable. I make a lot of them myself. My grammar isn't great. I continue to learn. However, I think I am better than the ones who spell "grammar" as "granma".

If bought/brought are a major gripe how about people who use 1st instead of first and others who feel the need to have to put a number in a swear word just so it can be seen on the site.

Putting number in a swear word is cunning, not ignorant. This creative use of number in a swear word allows one to convey the sentiment without having to get your word all starred e.g. **** by the swear filter.
There is some little information on the word "brought" here:
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/brought
I have twice corrected a few spellings in my previous post on this thread. I'm a sinner, I confess.

"Bought" and "brought" words have different meanings, which can potentially change the meaning of a post. "Bought" means you purchased, and brought means you fetched. What you bought or brought isn't relevant here, so we won't talk about it. "1st" and “first" have same meaning. That is why latter doesn't raise too many eyebrows for its use within informal Internet communication.
