how about people just try and give some advice not make stupid comments.
to state that all scoobs under 2 grand are rust buckets etc shows you have no idea what your talking about.most of the early jdm cars i have seen are rot free compaired to a lot of newage cars.mine is 19 years old and not a spot of rust on it.

Let's be honest here chaps, 9 out of 10 under two grand imprezas are sheds.
If you take your time and wait for the right car then you can come across a real bargain, just as softpikey did with his STI 3.

Just bought a my99 uk turbo with decat exhaust, fmic, aftermarket suspension, ecutek, bigger front brakes for £1200 80k miles, history with rr printouts tracker and lots of bills... Just put a Td05, headers, walbro on.. All bought for peanuts off the bay...I'm upto £1500 as I spent a lot on new heat wrap for the headers and d/p... Lol

Remember to add another £300 onto that for the map adjustment you'll now need.

Bloody hell, I got a full remap on a pre-licensed ECU for £280 off Bob Rawle - £420 altogether

Truth be known it is just the fact that you own one and don't like to accept that it's not worth alot

Good condition and well speced classics will still demand a high price tag, I like to think my car ticks both those boxes hence the fact it would make a damn sight more than two grand.

Good condition in standard form wouldn't see you more or much more anyway, the op never said he wanted a high spec classic He simply asked if anyone knew of a good one for around 2k, which there are quite a few

Have to agree with the above. I went to view 3 or 4 when I was originally looking and they were all very good examples, all had FSH and only one had a bit of rust on the arches, all around the 2k mark. I've also seen one or two on here that look incredibly clean and well looked after around the same price. Seen a mint low mileage wagon on here for about 1500 aswell!

There are some decent ones out there, you just have to look.

All the OP needs to do is trade time searching for money saved. My 53-plate UK STi with PPP isn't for sale, but it's got 210k on the clock and STILL going strong. I doubt it's worth more than £1500, but nor does it need any major work doing on it!

For £2000 you can get a tidy import WRX or Uk spec Turbo 2000, WRX will have more power but the Turbo 2000 will prob be cheaper on the insurance. I paid £2000 for my WRX only had 50k miles, a good spec list of modifications and from a fellow sound member on here 6 months ago, still going strong and no issues at all, touch wood

just quickly read first page of this, you can easily get a impreza for 2k. my first one was a 98 uk turbo cost 2k two years back. few months back i picked up a wrx '94 for £800. they are out there.

While it will doubtless make more than 2 grand I wouldn't get too cocky as to just how much more. They are very very cheap right now and mods count for very little in terms of resale!

Agree with others here, plenty of good 2K Scoobs to be had, a buyer's market right now... however mine of course is worth at least £5K ... I wish

I agree, you can get a half decent classic for a couple of grand but you will have to sieve through the crap.

I think the issue here is people think their cars are worth more than they are actually worth.....In todays finanical climate people just want to get shot of these cars so are prepared to take a hit on the sale because it could save them money in the long run.....

And if you read the line under the header: "General Subaru Discussion"; which doesn't mean MX5's.

2K can get a very tidy classic, ask Andy, the one he bought was clean and standard. https://www.scoobynet.com/projects-4...t-impreza.html

I suppose people's views of 'a good Impreza' vary massively.

If a standard 100K mile 15 year old Impreza is a good one in your eyes then yes, 2K will get you a good Impreza.

"Ok guys whats the best i could get for 2 grand as a weekend car anything you have come across that i might have missed"

2. If anyone has a 2k track impreza, please post up details im interested in it myself
3. i have no more than 2k to spend on this car, i need it to be competitive on the track

Need i go on..... The op felt no need to post his needs or wants.

I have 2 other forms of transport and my Impreza is not my main one, mostly only used at weekends and I have never been on a track day in it, you have just been making assumptions, as far as what MattyB1983 said, there are plenty of good classics about with less than 100k on the clock in near mint condition for around and in my case even less than 2k, I think you lot are just sore and don't like the fact that your cars are worth no where near what you probably think they are! I must remember in future that I need to pay over the odds for anything as it will definitely be better....... Anyone want to buy my 97 sti? I want 6k for it so obviously it is absolutely amazing!

Your opinion of 'good' must be a little different than mine that's all softpikey.
If your happy with your £1500 Impreza then good luck to you sir,
