Absolutely spot on mate I am under no illusions as to how little my car is worth whereas other people seem to think they have some hugely valuable special case just because they have spent a fortune on mods.... they'll find out the hard way when they come to sell that they are wrong!!!

People out there pay the money for something a little bit special, that little extra you know.
A stunning fully forged classic running 400+ will sell for well over the average price of a classic.
Now admittedly the average price of a classic has dropped dramatically over the last couple of years but even so, £5000+ is what you'll need to spend to buy a special car.

If you re-read my posts you will see that I didn't say you can't buy a good Impreza for £2K, I said 9 out of 10 two grand imprezas will be sh1te, and I stand by that.

£1895 actually and what makes you think your chav mobile is any better than mine, just your opinion? Opinions are just that, they are not facts!
My car is mint, has been pretty much perfect since the day I bought it, has fsh and I have not had to spend a penny on anything other than upgrading the ecu, mapping etc. How much do you think your car is worth then? Would be very interesting to know, out of interest, how much did you pay for it and when? How much have you spent on actual repairs, I don't mean servicing and upgrading? I wish I had customers with your mentality as I could make a fortune, by the way, you spelt my username wrong twice now, pretty poor as every time I post you see it! Just thought I would point that out as you so kindly do everytime another member spells incorrectly.

This thread was never about a special car? It was about what the op could buy for 2k, he never said he wanted something special at any point!

That's handy then because with 2grand he won't be getting anything special.

I never said my own car was better than yours did I ???
It's more valuable £££ wise but better, well that's not for me to say.
You own a wagon right ??
Wagons always sell for alot less than saloons, the market is much smaller for them, hence you can get a better spec wagon for the same money as a saloon. Not to mention you bought it from a dealer who didn't have the first clue what he had...

Your obviously one of the lucky ones chap who managed to buy the good one from the nine sheds. Have a look through eBay or Pistonheads and search for classics under 2K, you will see that most are not ideal and will most likely need money throwing at them in the future.

I don't need to say what I paid for my car and to be quite honest I daren't even work out what it stands me at. BUT, I have a pretty much bullet proof 420bhp classic which will (if I ever wanted to sell) bring a good few grand, or more if I broke it up.
And to call it a chav mobile.... have you not seen some of the stickered up Halfords specials on this site, I hardly think my car deserves to be branded a chav mobile. I don't even have a bloody spoiler on it for christs sake....
Now this is a 'chav mobile'......

https://www.scoobynet.com/album.php?...0&ref=gnr-prev

Please tell me this wasn't yours buddy.....

It all comes down to what you want from your car. I wanted a bit more than guys/girls like yourself so I had to pay a little more than guys/girls like yourself. Am I upset that I've spent more than I'm gonna get back ???
Am i ****, come have a drive in a 'special' classic and you'll see why..

Re- your user name...
Sorry for the miss spelling of it, it's just I find you less wild and more mild. Maybe the 'W' needs spinning round buddy.

god you really think your better and your cars more special than everyone else on here.all he wanted was some advice not to have someone start slagging all classics off if they didnt cost over 2k or had £1000's spent on them.
as for taking the **** outt of scoobs with stickers well mine is covered in them for my old regiments charity so obviously is a cheap peace of chav crap.

Where did I say my car is better than anyone's !!!!! I actually said that my car is more valuable £££ wise than WildPikeys, is that not true then ??!
How can anybody say their car is better ?? What makes a car better than someone else's ??
Theres quite a few classics on here that put all of ours to shame.

I give up, there really is some strange people on here. Try actually reading what people type....

The above does come across as kind of saying yours is better.
I honestly think the impreza has reached the XR3I status now.
I've got 3 other mates that all drive scooby's. One has just sold his wrx that was very clean for £1300 and another has had his classic up for a month now and hasn't had anyone bite yet. He wanted £1500 but has only had one offer of a grand, which he declined.

I'm sure you remember in the 90's when XR3I's were everywhere and you could pick up decent ones from about £500.
And craigo, to expand is to become fatter. I don't plan on doing this.
Yes mate, white type r like you,the best colour.

I never intended it to look like I was saying my car is better than anyones.
Apologies if it appeared that way, definately not my intention.

Back to the question
For 2k I picked up a bugeye wagon wrx with 111000 miles on the clock. Although this may sound high the car has never wanted for anything. I added up everything on the receipts and it came to just over £10,000 in 7 years. A very well looked after and completely standard example!
