Sorry Alpine, I don't get your point. Could you consider re-writing it in an easier-to-read style with correct grammar?

Carl - well done - At least someone was listening in school.

Some people are unable learn stuff themselves, particularly when considering something like English, which does not have a logical set of rules. Many people here will be programmer types, where a logical brain is required. They might understand 10 or 20 programming languages where you can learn a set of rules and apply these to every circumstance. When you reach this stage, English seems unnatural, both on spelling and on pronunciation.

Trough - Phonetically matches the spelling...
Cough - Coff - Where did that f come from?...
Bough - Is that a bough or a boff - nope its a bow like..
Bow - to tip your head forward as opposed to...
Bow - and arrow

Did you read this correctly? I read it.

I have what I believe to be a very good grasp of English, but I can certainly understand why people make mistakes, and don't feel the urge to correct them

Edited to make you wonder what mistakes I made

I will look it up. When Americans say "Enjoy." it's incorrect too as 'enjoy' is an transitive verb (i.e. you can enjoy something, but you can't just enjoy).

Edit -- I have looked it up in Fowler's. He says "The word is an adverb, and not a conjunction; nevertheless, it is often used in the latter capacity where and (also), but also, or as well as, would be in place. But it is the writer's ordinary duty to settle up with his afterthoughts before he writes his sentence, and consequently the unassisted also that is proper to the afterthought gives a slovenly air to its entrance". It looks like you are correct, and I will therefore refrain from using the 'Also,' construction in the future (but what I can't work out is whether I could have used 'Additionally,' -- I suspect not).

Edited to add Corner

Carl, rb170 has said exactly what I meant.. I meant I cant be bothered as I am usually trying to help somebody out... and I could be doing other things like fitting an intercooler or drinking in the pub when I'm at home, And during the day Im sure i should be working so I try and be quick... At the moment I am waiting for Regisry Crawler to finish searching 26800 registry keys... hence trying to be quick and get my point across, Without correcting my grammar or spelling.

Oh and if you find it arrogant then tough **** and if you ever post something I could possibly help you with, and I reply but you cant understand it then reply with eh? or "Sorry old chum, I didn't quite understand what you were trying to say."

David
