She said she would have phoned, but she had no credit.....and he buys all the credit on the phone and she can't remember the pin to her debit card to top it up. That is how dependant she is. She's in her 60's so is useless at anything. As is her 30yr old son (which I think was in bed depressed/bipolar/can'tbearsed-itus ), and her husband is 30miles away hospital.
They are a walking disaster though...he's just spent £20K renovating his son's flat (they own it), to sell as he's moved back in with them. And now they can't sell it as it doesn't comply with building regs (somthing to do with vetilation) so now its going all legal with the builder.
Then there was teh time I unwittingly helped take delivery of their new washing machine £1000 worth of Bosch (a giant 12kg thing so she could wash duvets in it ). Then they left it in the garage unused for 12months before getting it plumbed in and then when it was finally fitted, finding out it was faulty :
When he was ill I took his car back from the hospital (renault Scenic with 120K miles) as it was stuck there (he's the only one that can drive). The I first thing I noticed when driving it was something very big was very loose on the nearside front suspension. I told him something is well ****ed on it and get it looked at ASAP before it breaks or fails the MOT...6 months later he's asking me for a lift to the garage as he's been without a car for over a week as its failed the MOT due to knackered suspension (shocks and ball joint IIRC) and him moaning about the cost and being without a car. FFS its not like I didn't warn him.
Seriously I don't know how they survive without help from others. Its just one thing after another with them.

Yes, did it out of pity. Being honest it would be wrong in fobbing her off when she turned up at the doorstep in tears asking for help.
