Second hand newage JDM bottom end (that's a 2.0), and re-use as many of your exsiting ancilleries as you can. One important thing to consider is your gearbox; a standard v5\6 box won't last long at over 300lbs\ft.

Just bought an engine of a guy at work so he can't run far if it screws up. The price made it worth the chance with him insisting it was a low mileage UK 2000 engine and in good working order. collect on Thursday to fit it over the next week or so. The Subaru is surprisingly easy to work on actually. Engine swaps so far don't seem too bad. I held back on spending big as I have another car project on the go which I want to complete this year and saving to get a decent P1. that's the car I really want but want to keep my current one all good until I'm ready to buy a P1. (BTW the other car project is a Maestro turbo, yes I know but with only 41 left road legal and got the bits for a 350hp engine it's a quirky car, albeit a BL car lol)
