account number and sort code are not secret numbers. Don't worry about this side of it.
However they can be used by a company to set up a direct debit (which is what happened to clarkson) BUT you will recieve written warning before a direct debit is taken and you can cancel it.

I took a £2500 deposit on my Rouse 302r Cossie in the early 1990s.

Never heard another word! God knows what happened to the buyer, I'm guessing it was something unfortunate though.

I wish I'd have waited for him to come back and kept it as it'd have been worth a fortune now!

I sent a polite message yesterday asking him to get in touch within 24 hours and let me know one way or the other. Pretty much as expected - no response. So thats it.

I’m proper pi$$ed off – So be it if the sales not happening for whatever reason, just let me know!!
What annoys me the most is not knowing what’s happening, with getting the silent treatment from him and not returning my calls and texts when he said he would.
Maybe he is a decent person and a bit embarrassed about it all - or – maybe he just doesn’t give a to$$

Thanks for all your advice.

Haha! yeah no probs, seems to be the done thing.
Might take a while to build up to the value of the car but it appears I've made a start now anyway

Good manners are free. I think you have given a justified argument if he asks for it back
