Fill up before you leave the UK (there's a big Shell off j11 of the M20 about 10 mins outside Dover). You won't need to stop in France and there's a couple of Shell stations in Belgium on the main route. Pretty sure i've had 98 Ron VPower out there instead of 99, just take some octane booster with you.

When you're at the Ring, there's two petrol stations that do 102 Ron - 1 down the main road from the Ringwerk place, the other in Adenau. The Adenau one uses BP fuels but my scoob loves the 102 stuff from there If you use any of the other red coloured ED petrol stations, avoid the Super as its only 95 ron! (their Super Plus is 98).

how much is a litre of the 102 stuff near the ring and how many tanks do you go through? for say 3-4 laps?

Can't remember how much it was, but it wasn't rediculously expensive. Worth it imo, can't be a bad thing having a higher octance fuel if ragging round the Ring

With regards to how much you'll use - it depends how heavy you are on the old right foot! I find i use about a quarter of a tank per lap, when doing times around 9:10 - 9:20 (which is on the gas a lot with only 250bhp!) but if you're new to the ring, it won't be as thirsty as that.

Stay away from Aral 102, both mine and a friend's Colt CZT ping with it under light load off boost.
Doing some reading in forums others have experienced the same.
98 octane is fine.

Interesting as thats what i use when at the Ring. No issues, and plenty of the SES guys use it every year without any problem.

I guess any fuel could trigger knock on some cars as i guess its all down to whether it suits the map?

What do you use to monitor knocking though?
I use a PSI3 and see Knock Correction values going negative at light throttle hence the comment.
On boost it seems fine though so I don't know if it's "ghost knock".
Btw fuel consumption when on Aral 102 is much worse than on 98RON.

OK.
V-power in the continent is 95RON, V-power Racing is 100RON; If the car is mapped for 99, dropping to 95 will eventually show knock I imagine.

I had my car mapped for 98RON in the UK so that I can use regular SUL (98RON) in the continent. Too much hassle otherwise.

Even if your car is mapped for 99RON, dropping to 98RON should be OK I imagine unless you have mapped it to the detonation limits.

£500 is cheap cheap cheap

I went last year, but from Leeds area.
for me and my daughter it cost me £1200 all in
over night ferry Hull Rotterdam
hotel for the night when I got there.
food, beer, fuel Ring laps 6 off them.
So £600 per person. thats not too bad, but I did pay for both of us.

going with my mate next week, so should be a lot less for me, but still expecting my half to be Just over £600 with the over night ferry included both ways.

Ace track, ,,,,, toll road.

Nice car Anger & nice pictures

The Ring is addictive.

Anger, nice photos and the car looks great btw

Is it a JDM and what wheels are these? Do you have a side pic of the car and close up of a wheel?
