Don't get me wrong the OBP is well made but I'm not convinced how well mine works at the moment & with ukimpreza having no baffle in his I'm now thinking RCM is a better buy.
However they are quick to respond to orders, mine took about three days to arrive & it's probably the only realistic alternative to a RCM.
I agree that the RCM will probably work out about the same price once you take into account all the ancillary parts that you get with their kit.

I still haven't received a response from OBP so unless I get an answer back today I will start looking for alternatives, the RCM one is now a possibility.

To give you an idea my costs were:

£30 for the can (second hand)
£56 stainless hose with aeroquip fittings
£35 silicone hoses
£15 hose clips/joiners/adapters etc

Total £136

RCM kit is £270

Its a lot more faff sourcing all the parts yourself but there are savings to be made if you can be arsed.

Good news OBP are going to be supplying a Subaru 3 port catch tank with 2 x 12mm and 1 x 18mm inlets plus of course a breather outlet, and as the existing catch tank a drain at its base.

I had an email from them today advising me to check their website for the new tank information to be uploaded.

Just to carry on for this one. I messaged obp today and got a response and a link to the new one they have put in their online shop, baffled with larger inlets and larger outlet.

Hello,

After finding this thread i feel the need for us to set the record straight regarding the issues that the original poster had with our product.

With our Baffled tanks, they are baffle plated. This means that there is just a solid plate that is placed underneath the inlets to the tank. The hot oil vapour drops on to this plate, condenses and then falls back into the tank. This baffle does not go across the whole of the tank. Therefore if you shone a torch in any of the inlets at the top of the tank, you will see light through the hole at the bottom of the tank.

The only way that it is possible to definitely check whether or not the tank is baffled is to look on the outside of the tank for burn marks. Because the tanks are made from aluminium, when welded it leaves burn marks and these are visible through the aluminium tank so there should be some burn marks where the baffle is located.

After speaking to the original poster when he had contacted us, we offered to exchange the catch tank, cover the postage and return a baffled tank to him, however we asked if he could check the outside of the tank for burn marks before returning it as this is the only definite way to confirm if it is baffled or not. We did not and still haven’t heard anything back, due to this we have only assumed it is the correct tank he has received.

If there are any other problems in regards to any of our products, we will always do our best to rectify them. However we can only do so on the feedback we receive directly to us so if you do have any feedback on problems with our products or possible ways to improve our products or service, please feel free to contact us via any of the contact methods that are stated on www.obpltd.com.

Best Regards,

Matt.

Can any of the other posters on this thread please post where you fitted your obp cans as I bought an obp can and it just wont fit where its meant to. There is an aircon pipe in the way not to mention the fuel filter. Ive had to use the top hole of the cans bracket in the bolt hole on the strut just to mount it. To say that I'm slightly dissapointed is an understatement as they say they a Subaru fitment.

I have emailed them but am yet to receive a reply. Can some one post some pics of there fitment? I'd much prefer it being secured by two bolts.

Please help guys

It's a big can & not easy to fit. Mine is in place of the AC pump. The best place to fit it is in the NS corner of the bulkhead behind the strut turret. I have a swirl pot there so mine can't go there. I'm not keen on the bracket & would suggest cutting it off & making a bracket to secure the can to with oversized hose clamps.
The cans are well made but need modifications to fit satisfactorily & are not an exact fit for any Subaru. The only exact fit can is the RCM but it's a bit pricey.

Yup i had to make my own bracket.
Given there are a few different fitting locations you are going to have to improvise a bit if you want to fit a catch can.
They say Subaru fitment because it has 3 inlets, which the subaru requires.
