That was Vauxhall 15 years ago, well maybe 10 my old astra H was a hoot to drive and a diesel and the new astra pretty much made it a class leader until ford brought out the new focus, its a better car than you would expect, sells more units than alot of the german competition

Vauxhalls in my opinion are bland, boring and mass market rubbish - give me a Ford over one anyday as if I had to choose between both marques then it would be the blue oval every time.
As for comparing Vauxhall to it's German rival VW it's like comparing chalk and cheese, ok VW build quality is not as good as it used to be but I'd still rather a VW over a Vauxhall/Opel.

I owned a couple of Vauxhalls a few years ago. I was pretty impressed with each car. They were comfortable, not expensive to run, had adequate performance and were particularly good round corners, especially in the wet.
