Practice is the key, know your subject(s) and your script, use cue cards with your salient points on.

remember to smile when you step up, pause, do not rush your delivery.

It can be difficult at first so remove the easy obstacles by knowing what you are going to say by practice, practice, practice! If the subject matter will allow then inject a little humour but do not go overboard, you should finish by summing up what you have been speaking about and if appropriate take questions and do not forget to smile (donot grin like an idiot but not like a rabbit in the headlights either) + slow your pace. The only person who knows you are nervous is YOU!
