Me I'd have had it dropped to my house, and the stripping would have begun, as its a shame for those engine and ECU mods to go to waste. If it HAD to go to a scrap yard then I'd bung someone I knew in one a few quid so I could strip the parts off I wanted and leave them the shell to scrap.

But glad your ok tho dude, that looks like a NASTY accident!!

Touch wood, i was VERY lucky.

Dropping it off anywhere else other than the pound wasnt an option. When the highway petrol turned up, they arranged for a toe truck that they have on call to come and pick it up, they would only take it to their pound, or a garage local to the accident.

The weird thing is, the engine, and front mount intercooler have all escaped without any damage. I plan to buy the car back, and will be able to tell once I've had a better look. If everything is ok with the engine, i'll take the uprated bits off and keep them for my next project

Well I hope they are salvageable and would just fit straight in. As if they did you could save a packet and buy a non runner, fit your engine and other goodies and away to go and pocket the difference.

I know when I was smashed into years ago, they wouldn`t allow me to buy my car back for some reason, as it was a Cat B write off. I hope they allow you to take what you want before it goes.

Yeah, that sounds like a good plan! Although, depending on how much I get back, I was thinking of looking for a newage STI and transferring my twinscroll bits over.

I'm hoping its not a CAT B, but if it is, I have a friend that might be able to help me buy it back.

I'll let everyone know how it goes.

What do you reckon, Cat C or B?
alrite buddy wow just seen the after pics you are a luck man to walk away with just a scratch, that will be a cat b i think buddy as the shell is bent

but as i said on the phone get the car back in your possession before it ends up through a salvage auction and you lose it all, now they may not let you take it because it is a cat b as it has to be disposed of in the correct manor due to environmental issues etc and there has to be a waste transfer note issued, give me a call if so and we can collect it as we have a cat b breakers licence which has took a lot of work to get and the ability to issue the above. Then you can take all the goodies off that you want to keep for the next one and we will buy what is left (we can do this for you if you don't have the means to do so)

what a sad way for a nice project to end

scott...
