Swing arm and forks have the disk mounting points. Not direct mount (need the caliper brackets but thats no problem). If the front end is fine, I'd be inclined to stick with it as you'll be double what you paid for half decent forks on top of your adapter bearings.

Looks in good nick, front and rear mechs working ok?

Pads will be cheap.

Wouldn't fancy those tyres off road in anything other than bone dry conditions though

Mech's seem to be fine, but I'm sure a bit more running is needed before I say too much.

Guy I got it off, bought it a few months ago off a 60 YO, so it hasn't had a hard life at all.

Looks like I need to visit halfords to see if they have an air pump with small end.

You need a shock pump specific for purpose - about £15 to £35. Halfords stock them

These things run very high pressures. The rear shock on my Scott runs about 110psi for my weight but different systems run different pressures so 170 psi could be bang on.

I'm no expert on air shocks as I'm more of a road bike user but you may find you need a proper air shock pump for the job?
Bike pressures do tend to be much higher than you will be used to as a car user, for example my bike tyres run at around 110psi, although they are 700c road tyres.

700's on this also.

Checked Cannondales spreadsheet and it's MENT to be 160-170psi for around my weight, but I've spoken to the guy I bought it off and at 13 stone he had it set at 110. I found it a bit soft at that and would spring too much when stopping.

Been to halfords and came away with 2 different pumps which I'll try and return the one I don't want. One is a shock pump and one is an on the floor hand pump. Trouble is the old guy who originally owned it, fitted a shady dust cap which done the usual and seized. Removing it damaged the threads a bit, so the shock pump might not get a good enough grip of the threads left...

Luckily halfords are doing 20% off biking equipment ATM, so that was handy. Just a shame I left the bike at work, as I'm wanting to try and see I'd either pumps work now.

Well the shock pump didn't work, as the thread is too damaged, but the floor hand pump worked fine. Trouble is I DO think the shock is a bit rough.

So I understand I can get adapters etc, to use a 1-1/8 shock, but do all 1.5 shocks fit straight on?

Thanks mate.

Ordered the adapter bearings LegacyGTB gave us the link for and have a cheap, but mint Manitou SX fork coming. Will see how it goes.
