It's not out yet but Microsoft announced their "Surface" a few days ago. There are 2 versions, one of which comes with Windows 7 and an Intel Core processor with a USB port and the protective screen cover is also a keypad

I guess it will cost a fair bit but it's the same size and weight as an iPad. They are doing another version for people who I assume don't need the full pc capability. I have an iPad 2, which I love, but this looked interesting

No mobile data on the surface, no good for for me, shame as otherwise it's a nice piece of hardware and the software should be good, unlike Android.

I didn't say I had tried the nexus but I did say I have tried the current tablets on the
Market and yes I do think they are INFERIOR to the iPad !

And the iPad is not without it's drawbacks but overall it is better than the other tablets I have

One of them instead but surprise surprise they are not so I bought a iPad LOL

You see, this is why you're seen as you are - you take the stance that anyone who disagrees with you is 'full of hate' and so on.

I'm not full of hate for Apple - I have a bunch of their kit in my house, and have recommended Apple products on numerous occasions. What I do dislike is people talking bollocks, and for some reason there seems to be a very strong correlation between Apple 'fanbois' and spouted bollocks.

The reason you see me as having a hate is probably due to me having repeatedly shown your claims to be bollocks. You've probably not noticed that when you have not spouted bollocks, I have often agreed with you.

As for jumping down the throat of the OP; Ant said it better than I, before I did - all I had left to do was agree with him.

didnt get a penny of my money it was a freebee, i prefer a laptop for internet use etc, but the kids like it for some of the drawing aps.
it seems very overpriced for what it is and i wouldnt have one unless it was free like mine was.

im neither an apple lover or hater, i had an iphone and moved onto a samsung galaxy s3 which i find far superior and would never go back to iphone, but the iphone was fine and user friendly when i had it so cant say i disliked it.

For the money these should do well, £159. Made by Asus and Tegra 3 processor. Only a front facing camera, although why would you want to take a photo with a tablet? No SD card slot, so pay the extra and get the bigger one. Battery life is pretty good. Android 4.1. NFC, GPS etc... Will be a good little device. Certainly not an iPad though, despite it's superior Android OS

I have 3 Ipads and i have to say best thing ive ever bought in the portable form factor, and agree with all the positive comments here, this new device from Microsoft will be what WE the windows people want in the form of a true portable beast,

Apple will blow the market away this year or next with the new Mini Ipad and Ipad 4.

The surface will dominate the Business market for the Mid tablet User due to its ability to merge seemlessly with Commercial Domain enviroments something apple can not do easily, yes ok there are 3rd party ad-ons that if your bobs acounttants with 50 people would work, but im an Enterprise Architect and the clients i run with Royal Mail, BAE, UBS to name a few cant use IPADs in anger due to the lack of true domain/network support. Mails ok but anything more ya shafted.

So ive been right on a few occasions in my life LOL here are a few arguements i won

Betamax VS VHS = i backed VHS and i won
Blu Ray VS HD DVD = I Backed Blu Ray i won
Novell VS Windows NT = I backed Windows I won

I gonna say Ipad for Joe Public and High end CTOs in a business enviroment, Surface or Sansungs series 7 Tablet both running windows 8

By the way when windows Mobile 7.8 drops for your phones, and your running windows 8, you should see the funky **** that does just by having it close to ya PC, amazing ****.

just out of genuine interest why are you so pro apple??

i have an ipad. i didnt buy it and wouldnt have it if it wasnt free.
its an ok product,quite user friendly but very overpriced.
in my opinion a laptop is far better and also having had an iphone my android phone i have now is far better.

im neither an apple lover or hater just find there products ok.

fair enough it was a genuine question, as i said i have one and they are ok but hardly anything special.

maybe i am missing the point but i prefer a laptop and windows.

i think for the money they are very overpriced.

but some of the aps for kids i.e. drawing and games are very good.
