Sadly the UK has a drinking culture which states the more you drink the bigger man you are... inevitably with that as a cornerstone violence will follow.
The Brits go out to get drunk and have a good time, everyone else goes out to have a good time and may get drunk along the way.
It's pathetic and is just another illustration of the low intellect of much of the population along with racism and homophobia!

Well said there^. The dearest Gandhi was once asked in Britain what he thought of the British culture. His answer was- "What culture????". Very clever and hard hitting, Mahatma Gandhi.
PS: To whosoever the spelling of Gandhi may concern- 'Gandhi' is spelt as Gandhi, not Ghandi or something made-up like that. Just because the British have turned the spellings of foreign names/words as per their convenience, it doesn't make their fcuked up spelling right, nor does it make it more acceptable because they are 'superior', and what they say and write goes.
Eating hot curries is another one to look like a well hard British man with cast iron *****. After a p!ssed-up night out, a lot of drunken British people end up at the currry houses and compete upon eating the hottest vindaloos. While doing that, the noisy drunks throw racial abuse at the restaurent/takeaway owners, and make a right mess of the place. Some drunks act more talkative to the brown waiters/restaurant owners; just to show that they are so very kindhearted to connect with the 'low' and poor races/nationalities, but they continue to think that the brownies are nowhere as capable as they are; in any faculty. To them, brown people should just stick to cooking curries, noodles and kebabs, or cleaning toilets, and take the drunken abuse from the white 'superior, highly cultured and highly civilised' British drunks. IMHO the foreign foods places should ban the drunken racist ******* not just temporarily, but forever. In all seriousness they can't, because their places will go bankrupt. Perhaps they think that they should continue to yield the benefits from such deluded drunks at the cost of abuse.

This heavy drinking with violence; I wonder if it is immigrants' fault as well- like everything else is?

Let me enlighten you, Mr. abusive who is calling me a silly little man.
I am a woman.
I have turned nothing into anything. Read the thread and see that it is about the drunken yobs, which is a very British thing. I mentioned Gandhi for a relevant reason, not to turn anything into anything. Goes to show that f1 is right. Some people have very low intellect to see that mentioning Gandhi isn't turning the thread into "I hate English".
On the other hand, its all very good for people to generalise ethinic monorities e.g. Muslims and other minorities e.g. homosexuals here on SN, isn't it? You couldn't take the generalisation of the British, could you? Take it on the chin, or do one.

I think its also partly down to the choice of alcohol that some drink, especially the UK brewed lagers,i'm sure the chemicals to speed up the brewing process makes some people violent..
I've heard a few stories about normal people having a certain drink which turns them violent,Stella Artois appears to be up on the list.I got talking to a woman in the pub a while ago, subject turned to drink etc,she said her brother who's not a violent person normally, had a few stella Artois and he went violent shortly afterwards. Its also happened to my own sister, don't know if that was down to the Stella or the reason why she punched a guy in the face was because he pinched her ****.She didn't need no help from me that was for sure, and never touched the Stella again,i seem to be fine with it though, but i go for the imported stuff..

I love a hot curry, and a cold beer or 3 to wash it down, does that make me a racist? No it doesn't. You know exactly what your doing posting cr@p like that, referring to the poor "brownies" taking grief in restaurants. I'm off to watch the moto gp, I suggest you go and catch up on your ironing, and we can continue this later...

Who said that you are racist because you eat hot curry and wash it down with a few beers????? Who is talking about 'you' ??? Wind yer neck! I don't know you, I haven't seen you out there abusing waiters etc. in retaurants after getting p!ssed (not that I remember, anyway), so how can I say that you are racist? You may or may not be, but I don't know. So, how can I label you with that??? So, cut the cr@p yourself for heaven's sake!
BTW, if you ate curry, washed it down with a few beers, and spouted your racist hatred towards the servers, you will be a racist. Are you, or are you not? You decide. If you didn't/don't abuse anyone racially (in thoughts, verbally or physically), then of course you are not a racist. I really hope this is clear. I have written it as fool-proof as possible.
What you are is that you are intolerant of others' experiences (personal or vicarious), and take things personally out of proportion. Don't tell me what to post. I know what I am posting. If you don't like it, do one, as I said before. If you don't want to do that, don't be so sensitive, look at the bigger picture, and continue to eat your curry. No harm in that.
Now chill, and enjoy the Moto GP.

Well I've lived in a few rough places but always thought it sensible to simply avoid the hot spots as I don't especially want to get hit, stabbed or shot. I told my kids as they grew up to do the same.
But I've largely given up on much of UK society and particularly the binge/vomit/fight brigade. It can only be stopped by draconian booze laws like stopping sale of alcohol in supermarkets and locking up barmen who serve drunks. But that will never happen of course.

I don't really go out very much at all any more, but I do enjoy a few drinks in the house. I'm sensible enough and just enjoy a few in the comfort of my own home with my partner, don't cause anyone any trouble, so why shouldn't we, and probably many like us, not be able to get some alcohol in the supermarket for a reasonable price?
More and more people, in my experience, are going down this route as going out to them, is not as good as it once was, for various reasons, from fear of trouble, to the smoking ban, to cost etc. I for one think it would be totally wrong to penalise these people, because some can't behave like civilised human beings. Why does the approach always have to be ban something?

You don't think that may be a little unfair on the vast majority of people who just enjoy a drink, but keep themselves in check?

I agree it would be unfair. That's one of the main reasons it would never happen. Another wild idea that would never be implemented would be to licence people to buy booze. dl

How Gandhi could say anything about the culture in England is beyond me!
When I was in Delhi I watched someone squat in the street about 10 foot from where I was eating and **** right there and then - then there's the mountains of rotting rubbish in the streets, vermin everywhere and some of the worst child abuse known anywhere in the world
very cultured indeed

Instead of coming down hard on those that get arrested for drinking and causing trouble,Lets just do a blanket price increase on booze,so everyone gets hit instead..
I like a few vodkas on the weekend,i don't want to end up paying silly prices for it,just because some drunk yob wants to have a fight...
