Remember seeing this post on AFP facebook a while ago, cant post a link to the vid but if on Facebook can be found though his page or Car Throttle, very interesting clip
"Here is a realistic take on how long a 550+bhp Impreza engine will last (on race fuel) when driven hard on the road. This Prodrive build, with the absolute best of everything, datalogged continually, has a 400 mile rebuild schedule. Not 40,000 miles, 400 miles"
Not saying your forged build wont last 500 miles,
Just depends how serous you are & how deep your pockets are,
Can pickup a newage lump for 1500 quid if it blows
Could spend more than that on an empty block

Its a syndicate trackcar, and we're both well aware that with increased power and abuse, component lives gets much shorter and risk of failure increases exponentially.
We're quite happy to abuse it until such time it fails (probably heads or gearbox) and then we'll then build something new & stronger

Well, I've been the top 2.5 engine on the board for some time now (overall position 27).. and for those asking whose car is still on the road and still in the same state, I can confirm my hawk is still exactly as it was when I posted the figure up all that time ago back in 2012! Though now I have a '97 wrx for my daily so the hawk has been just a sunny day car so its got just 25k on the clock! Starts on the button every time and the engine is still 100% stock and still using the original vf43 turbo too 👍

Yep totally stock internals. 148k miles on the clock.

So the car is currently back to bare shell for a refresh, got a 6 speed box to go in and Engine Tuner are building us a 2.1 stroker.
This all started as a "cheap" track toy about 5 years ago. Amazing how things spiral out out of control!
