I had exactly the same problem on mine bud, no matter what i done it would not move, then the lad across the road from me does a bit of "detail cleaning" he came over stuck the heat gun back on it so that it was rather warm (or so to put ) wiped some chemical on there think it was g101 or something like tha, wiped it in, heated it back up with heat gun and put some g3 compound on a rag and he moved 95% of it, he just ran a mop over the top then for the stuff that was still reluctant to move and bob's ur uncle she was nice and shiney with no residue left. Your letters do look a little more baked in there than mine were but very similar fella, hope this may help!

And if there are any spelling mistakes i dont care lol as half the time its my iphone and not me so keep your playground opinions to yourself thank you as i thought this was a place for help not abuse!

You're automatically excused as you're from Cardiff so it can't be helped that you're thick

White spirits has always done it for me, you sure the lacquer hasn't come off with the badges?

Cellulose thinners would be a very unwise thing to use.

Whatever the sticky stuff is that they use on labels, I have found that petrol never works but that ordinary white spirit does like magic, even with old glue and it won't harm the paint.

and how will celulose thinners mark paint unless its celulose baised????? 2k clear coat in non trasnformable which means thinners wont soften it again! best thing in the world for cleaning back paint off all contaminets is thinners tried and tested this for over 10 years as a professional painter

Well it's almost gone.. He used 2000 grade paper and then 1500 and then polished it for a while .. It's smooth now but still visible at some angle.

Gives it a smoother cleaner look. Easier to clean, polish panels. Usually enhances the looks.

Personal choice.

Why do we do any thing to our vehicles? It's no different to decorating your home.

I can park in a dodgy area of town and my car looks just like a Golf GL

.......Except for the Recaro race seats, the 18" alloys, the feckin' huge blue brake calipers, the xenon projector lights and the drain pipe exhausts.

True.

The fact that you're a bell-end has spread purely by word of mouth.

Don't think that is an adequate explanation to the end result which by the look of this thread has damaged the look of the car rather than any enhancement

Having seen paint finishes ruined by the use of cellulose thinners in the past I would prefer not to take the risk. Once you have made the mistake it is pretty difficult and expensive to rectify.

Use of white spirit which certainly cannot attack that kind of paint finish is a lot safer as well as being totally effective.

is the boot lid orig? or was it repaired ? paintakes a long time to dry- badge letters should not be fitted for prob 3-4 weeks after a re spray as paint can be echted by the glue on back of letters.
