The original film was awesome, Paul Verhoven knows how to make a good film.
I suspect this is going to be a piece of bilge, but I'll reserve judgement till its been released.
Dark Knight Rises should be good though

It looks good, from what I've seen it looks a worthy successor to Matt Damon's trilogy. Jeremy Renner is quickly becoming another big action star with the Bourne series and has also been named to carry on the Mission Impossible films when Tom Cruise gives them up.

i know but bourne was made for him, i`ll have to see it though ,hope its good
didnt know they were making a remake of robocop but thought about how good it was when i heard about total recall, both brilliant films by paul vierhoven or whatever is name is. i love the details and how he portrays realism for that time in the future.

I do have to say, when it comes to action flix the ones with influence from Europe I tend to find more enjoyable. Hanna was a pretty recent take on a similar theme (trained assasin), pretty good in its own right.
I'm not a fan on CGi-fests which rely too much on CGI. If I wanted a computer animated film I'd go and watch another release of Toy Story.

I went to see another of the Verhoeven remakes last night, Total Recall, and I have to say, I really enjoyed it.
It didn't try to camp it up like the original, so it wasn't really comparable. If you are hung on the Arnie version, then you wouldn't like it, but as film in its own right, very good.
Geezer

I have a sneaking suspicion this will be rather good! Glad they have the sense not to just try and reproduce the original film or recreate the tone created by Verhoeven.

Whoops, too slow, didn't see the link above. I think it look terrible though and the director is having a nightmare with the film according to some articles linked to the article above. Not feeling so optimistic!

I must admit I liked the Bourne Legacy. I was preparing to hate it but I thought Renner played it very well and tbh I could have seen him doing the previous 3 better.
Ed Norton's role was also good. The film got slated on IMDH tho. I will admit the end sequence with the nutter oriental on the bike went on far longer than it ever needed to and the CGI sections were poor.
I havent watched Robocop for years but I recall half of my love for it was it was an 18 or whatever with arms getting shot off, people getting melted in acid. Not sure the acting and effects were ever up there. Thats the thing though - peoples expectations are a lot higher these days.

I dunno, the suit design looks like it's for a homegrown series on SyFy channel

Mate summed it up well: "It doesn't look like a cyborg/Robot; it looks like a man in a costume!"
Maybe we're not seeing the whole thing though; it might be too bulky for him to wear all the time when its not fully in shot/or there might be CGI embellishments to come?

Nah, there's too much detail in that suit for it to be missing anything going over it. As your mate said, it just looks like a bloke in a costume. Perhaps the new Robo is into sperlunking

Yeah, I see your point, it does look a bit like a a costume you might find in a spin off ofthe modern version of Battlestar galatica doesn't it!
