The tricky bit I had was, everytime I let go of the clips they slipped down. So what I did was, insert a very small screwdriver through the hole on the plastic arch and through the new clip too. Once I did this, I simply let go of the plastic arch. Push against it to hold the clip in place, remove screwdriver and get the screw in before letting go.

I only realised after doing all this that maybe a small tack of glue or something would of made it a lot easier for me.

On the first flap I did remove the side skirt screw but managed to do it without moving the skirt. If it makes sense to you, when I pulled the plastic arch away I sort of dislocated my wrist and mangled it in over the top. Lol
Hi Dan,

I'm relieved to hear I'm not alone with this- may I ask the model year of your car?

Didly,

I hope you don't think this cheeky, but is there any chance you could take a picture of it for me?

There goes my 'Must be a Blob Thing' theory. Haha!

I'm usually pretty good with directions and problem solving but these ones seem a little on the vague side, that and the finished photo's on the bottom of each page leave a lot to be desired

Maybe I will try again next weekend, at least I know it can be done...I probably just need to be a bit more patient

Not much help, but if you zoom in you can see where the bolts are mounted.

Bolt, metal bracket, flap, plastic arch trim, then new plastic nut fittin that slides over the metal lip of the wing.

I'd over to come and help but I'm not available until mid August

Thanks Dan

It can be done, that's the main thing! I was worried that I would have to send them back which might be hard now that I've bent the brackets into shape.

Thanks for your offer to help all the same...I think its fair to say that if I haven't fitted them by August, someone should swap my car for a KA or something as a clearly don't deserve to own an Impreza! haha

Dont worry about it. The instructions were a bit of a head f*ck for me too. Very basic. I went out and sat with my legs under each arch for 20 mins figureing them out. Ironiclly the rears took me longer

If you are gonna give it a real go be careful when manipulating the plastic arch. £50 ish for a new one might make you that extra bit more sympathetic to it

I know what you mean about the rears...that 3rd plug connection is a right blag!

"...3 large washers (2 either side of the nylon spacer)..."

Ok...I'm pretty sure that makes 4

One of the things that always puts me off doing these kind of tasks is I'm always wary of how rough to be with things...that's why I gave up so quickly for fear of breaking something, that and the heat of the sun was making me a little impatient.

Haha I remember that. If I remember rightly its 1 each side of the nylon spacer and the oother is on the back of the arch before the nut.

If you havent got it done in a few weeks ill help you out

Hazaar! Victory is mine!!

After de-greasing the engine on Saturday, I was feeling brave, so I finally fitted the little devils yesterday!

It took 4 hours! Mostly owing to losing one of the clip nuts inside my front wheel arch after it *pinged* off...aaaaand then I got my hand stuck trying to get it out...(seriously...I'm a danger to myself... )...then the drill didn't have enough charge to actually drill the holes...so I resorted to sheer BRUTE FORCE which did the trick in the end

End result-

VOILÀ!!
