Morning carpet
We do need to do something with our defence. I think the rest of the team is fine, but there are too many questions about the back four. Another mistake from Mickey last night and they score!
Arsenal deserved the title - they were consistently better than us and their away form was outstanding. I think the Premiership will be closer next season and United deserve some credit to have pushed it this far when everyone was writing them off in December. That's about the same time that many a Liverpool fan (Dunk, Redkop - you around?) was proclaiming that the title was theirs.
Oh well, enjoy the moment.

Yeah, I'm here . . . .
Fair play to the Arsenal, they held their own when we seemed to be running away with the title, kept their heads down and consistently kept clean sheets. That's been our problem for the last 6 years of so, lack of consistency. We always start off and end well, but always have runs of poor games throughout the middle of the season, you can't afford to do that. Every game needs to be played like its the deciding game of the season, may sound obvious, but this is what Arsenal have done and it's paid off. Same can be said of Utd this season. Well done to the @rse.
We'll take out our frustration on Ipswich again in the final game with another 6-0 drubbing to send them back where they belong and keep us in 2nd place ahead of Utd

yes yes and yes! i was only messing andi, just a bit of fun. adrenaline running!! i like to talk about footy when having a laugh. and also talking serious and being honest.
It was a great season and last night must have been a great atmospher, it seemed it on t.v. i could not go due to circumstances. I hope arsenal win next season but in a way i hope its close as it was a great end to the season, two top teams fighting it out! so no offence to you, your just supporting you team, like me, its just a laugh, but i thinks there should be a footy forum on here where we can talk honestly about footy. now we have to come together for england and hope they dont go out in the opening round.

Afraid to say Utd will be back at top next year - they bounce back much better than anyone else - they'll probably win it by Easter ! They've got that strong mentality and a will to win that very few teams can even hope to emulate - If only our Arsenal lads could get some of that Team spirit and desire to always come first we would be as good as they are.

I wish that were so Jasey but unless we sort out the defense and get some better players than Veron, Forlan and Blanc then we still be struggling to not lose as many games.
Could have been worse I suppose if Fergie had left as planned.

ScottScooby,
I was sat about 3 feet from the pitch and from where me and the other 67,579 of us were sat Arsenal were down right cheets, there were handballs, fouls, but most annoyingly, DIVES!! There were so many dives in that game it was unbelievable, clear dives and Durkin still gave the foul, and whats wrong with jumping for a header?? Every time a united player did that durkin gave a foul, funnily enough he never gave any when Arsenal jumped for header, wierd eh..

Andi you are so biased your head must be up your own ar$e, Utd players were filthy in that match, neville should have been sent off and scholes was bloody lucky too. Even the commentators said it for once, you can't jump into the back of players when going for a ball and and thats all utd players did all night. STOP BEING SUCH A BAD LOSER!!! UTD tried the dirty approach and it didn't get them anywhere, as for Arsenal players diving, thats rich after the ******* dive Van Nistlerooy took in our penalty area, especially after what he did against Ipswich - cheating w@nker!!!! You tried to cheat and it didn't work, funny we would never have guessed you were going to take that approach, ITS EXACTLY WHY BERGKAMP AND HENRY DIDNT PLAY IN CASE THEY WERE NEEDED FOR THE EVERTON MATCH AND SO THEY WERENT INJURED BY DIRTY MANCS!
Other UTD fans on here have said we deserved yet all u can do is whinge about complete b0ll0cks cos u have lost! Look at the game stats and see who conceded the most fouls, UTD did, look how many shots UTD had to Arsenal, we had more! I think we won fair and square so SHUT YOUR NOISE DAMN IT :P

Andi I think you are a classic example of the pot calling the kettle black! UTD were dirty all night long, the Arsenal players didn't rise to it and u must be as blind as a bat if u thought Arsenal were the dirty team! Perhaps you need to watch the match a few more times to understand how BAD u were

We WERE terrible, thats why we lost, but no one can say that we were the ones playing dirty, because Arsenal were giving as good as they got.

I wonder why UTD are so high up??? Something to do with the fact refs let UTD get away with murder, plenty of examples in the Arsenal match, especialy when Durkin stood and watched Van Nistlerooy shove Freddie to the ground off the ball and he didn't even get a yellow FFS!!! If that had been Vieira he would have and has been red carded for less in previous matches!!! Not to mention Neville should have had a red for his outrageous late tackle and Scholes was touch and go. When refs start treating teams with equal strictness then the fair play league will actually mean something, currently it means **** all and highlights the differences in how 2 equally hard tackling teams are treated.

Right so Shaun and Andi, you reckon that Van Nistlerooys push that was clearly shown on TV cameras didn't deserve a booking at the very minimum? If not then you obviously expect different rules for UTD players! It was a ******* joke that Durkin just watched him do it and then turn away and do nothing. Not just Arsenal but any other team has its players booked at the very minimum for off the ball incidents that involve physical contact, especially when a player is knocked to the ground. Looks like u 2 had your heads in the sand as you couldnt bear to watch UTD lose!!! I think you should watch replays and see what I am talking about, if u still disagree then it shows how biased and stupid you are. I have no problem accepting Arsenal players getting booked when they deserve it, for example when Edu got booked, it was deserved as it was idiotic to do what he did, 4 dodgy tackles one after the other in a couple of minutes. Yet it seems UTD fans can't be as honest and own up when their players have done something wrong, especially when they have got away with it. Typical bad losers!!!

Pontificating
Ahhh another footy thread (rubs hands gleefully)
Now I'm a "Massive" Utd fan of 32 years as many of know from previous threads, now things have calmed down since Wednesday I'd like to give a sensible look at this season
1:Arsenal were the most consistant team and deserved the league with Henry,Pires,Ljungber,Cole all outstanding for sustained periods of the season.
2:Man Utd dumped the 4-4-2 formation on so many occasions this season and didnt it show, every Utd fan knows we play best when 4-4-2, i cite the FA Cup game at Villa as an example, 2-0 down bring on Van Nist revert to a 4-4-2 and look what happened.
3:Veron / Blanc, I agree with a previous post, Veron should be given a chance next season, he is without doubt one of the best players in the world and the sort of player we want to see in the premiership, so why do the press hound him with daily stories of Lazio wanting him back and so on, its a british disease we dont like big stars to suceed, the vultures of the tabloids like noithing more than rubbishing big name stars beit footballers or celebs. we have yet to see the best of Veron.
After a dodgy start Blanc has been oustanding, technically and mentally he is one of the best players ive seen, so who cares if he's a bit slow, some of his defending looked so casual but thats because the man has a brain and can read the game pretty well and makes it look easy his running out of defense and distribution has been great to watch (i dont expect many non utd fans to agree because the media have highlighted his few errors, rather than his ability or technique) I for one am glad ive seen him play, i wish we'd had him in his prime.
4: We were filthy on Weds night, I cant remember seeing Utd play that dirty for years, I've no idea what that was all about, frustration no doubt, it looked like the match was being played at highbury no excuses for that type of performance, shocking.
So well done thge ****, see you and whinger next season for more physcological bull5hit
5:I lied F*ck you Arsenal, sorry my dad was a spurs fan its in my genes I was born to hate you, most Utd fans have been really good about the **** this season on the threads have been quite complimentary on many occassions. Living in North London a lot of my mates are Gooners and it amazes me how many of you are clueless in general about football and its laws and history you know nothing of other teams/players and can never appreciate football unless its played in an Arsenal shirt, I had to explain the offside rule to one of them the other day!!! a 35 yr old grown man who didnt know the offside rule, no it wasnt Anelka or Heskey.
So come on kick my **** its Saturday I'm working I'm bored tell me how wrong I am.

Well done Arsenal - you can't argue with a team who wins it over the duration of a full season - well deserved!
