Just a note and correct me if i'm wrong but last time UTD had to qualify for europe didnt they go on to win it?
UTD always bounce back they are one of those teams, which is why utd are still favorite to win the crown next season.
Mr funki monkey, good read there alot of sense.;

Look forward to the world cup now, yes the Gunners were the better side this season but we will be back, how many of you on here slaging United support the Gunners ????
As for Paul Dirken, he wants to pick his cheque up today from the Gunners some of those decisions were a disgrace, I thought only Seamen could handle the ball in the area not the case it seems !!
Anyway should be an interesting next season if we buy a defence.
Well-done Arsenal for winning the double and a hard fort match last night. (That Hurt !!!!)
Daz.

Yes and Im sure if we had won the title you Arsenal supporters would have been congratulating us on being the first team to win 4 titles in a row (english before any jocks pipe up).
I have utmost respect for Arsenal - theyve played well all season and been the team to beat. Our defensive fraility meant we were only kept in the chase by Arsenal and Liverpool drawing games. Has been a quality season going down to the wire (or almost) although has even more highlighted the gap between the top and the bottom of the premiership.
Edited to say AndiThompson why cant u just admit defeat gracefully instead of referring to a couple of dodgy ref decisions which were incidental anyways. Arsenal were far more organised than us last night. Ok so Durkin let Seaman get away with the clearance 3 foot behind the line and on another day Vieras girl like hand clearance in the area might have got a penalty, however we had a few close calls to red cards - Neville and Scholes. These incidents happen in every game and is the nature of football.

Another United fan here and both us and the ref were ****. I've got to say that some of Fergie's decisions this season have been baffling.....another example was Ruud not starting on Wednesday when we needed to score from the off. Forlan, I think, would make a better midfielder than striker with all his running and battling and we simply don't need any more midfielder's. Veron, if he stays, I'm convinced will be excellent next season.....just look at Pires and the contrast in his first and second seasons.....
Anyway, the better team won the league in the end.....we simply didn't deserve to win it losing 9 games, 6 of them at OT, it would have been almost embarassing to win it, although I would have gratefully lapped it up..... 6 defeats at OT, jeez, that usually takes us about 6 seasons to accumulate that.....
As for a football forum, I would love to talk footie on a regular basis but I think that it would just be people slagging each others teams off all the time, you know what it's like as soon as someone starts slagging off your side.....
Edited to say I do go to quite a few games before anyone starts that I'm from Swindon.....
