What I don't understand is if that was me hitting him with a baton would I get away with it.
If I stood up in court & said I was dressed in anti-riot gear ,stab vest,crash helmet etc, surrounded by all my mates similarly attired and felt so threatened by someone walking away from me with their back to me & their hands in their pockets I deemed it reasonable force to hit them with a metal baton. Would I ,as a civilian,get off?
