But Marc, your "hardship" aside, do you not see that he has a point? Forget you were a soldier, we all know that now trust me, but every £1 you avoid in tax people like me have to pay instead. Why is that right? Enlighten me.

Fooooking hell girls calm down
It's not the end of the world doing a cash job and losing it in the books
There's kiddie fiddlers / smack/crack heads prowling around and it's turned into world war fooooking 3 over a quick fiddle job
Crack a beer open log out and chill in the garden

Ok fair enough, to a point, Marc. But my hunch is that now you've realised you can get away without paying legitimate tax, you'll continue to do so, to some extent. And i bet i'm right. And that's not fair, mate.

In theory if you only earned £5,000 in the last tax year, you wouldn't have hit the threshold for paying it as it stands around £7,500 doesn't it? Or is this different for self employed folk?
I say this because as a first year apprentice a couple of years back I was on £493 a month take home and paid no tax what so ever. This was PAYE so again I'm interested to know the difference (if any) for self employed?

Sorry but it ISN'T bollocks, lol!! Every £ you don't pay, somebody else has to. It's black and white simple. I'm not having a go at you specifically, i'm having a go at all the people who do exactly the same thing and think it's ok. Hundreds probably reading this thread afraid to admit what you have in case somebody knocks on the door. And it ain't right, whichever way you slice it.

But that totally unproven theory is NO excuse to evade tax!! Again you're talking as if you're entitled to avoid tax, because "everybody else is doing it". Nonsense!

Small jobs as in a few hundred every now and then hurts no one.
Say for example holiday time.......I use cash jobs
Need a new teeeeeveeee.......as above
Daft as it sounds I've had cars as payments, I have a really nice omega watch (3k).....cost me a £600 job
I pay quite a bit into the system and have for many years
If everyone is going to call me a thief crack on .....I pay my way
And if it's a cash job service is just the same......corners can't be cut in my trade plus I like to keep everyone happy
So come on now..........close the thread and lets start a 'fooooking immigrant builder took my work' thread

If the goverment in charge had everyone paying correct taxes then there would be a hell of a lot more money in the budget each year so in theory they would not need to charge as much tax (but they probs would anyway)

Good thread. I've a couple of scratches and stone chips that need taking out of one of the cars and a rental that needs painting from top to bottom. The latter's in Plymouth, too. PM me, fellas, it sounds like I'll get a good price.
