Jdm Sti has the ic tank under the bonnet passenger side of intercooler .Not sure how many litres it holds
Spec c is bolted behind rear seat

I just press it manualy or some times have it automatic and you hear a relay click coming from ecu area when in auto mode

I think they hold 12 litres.
How does this compare to the UK STi's water bottle?
I reckon ours is about half the size of the spec C iggy. Ours is about 10" long and 8" deep i think.

And carry hell of alot more weight when full! I can fully understand why they put a bigger tank in their but when you think they were cutting back and improving things, thas alot of water to have swinging about back and forth on a track imo lol also adding valuable weight

I like the idea of an auto setting on the intercooler spray!

Can an ECUTEK re-map with Racerom, be programmed in to have the spray on temperature whether it be oil or intake, then still have the option to spray manually as well..?

Ummm interesting thought. If i remember i will ask when i get my final map. To be honest i forget about the IC spray most of the time. I have only filled my bottle once in nearly 2 years.

Lol..
When I took my RB a rolling road, the technician sprayed the intercooler loads before giving it beans!!

I actually use mine quite a bit;
When stretching it's legs..
After sitting in traffic, before setting off..
Then a bit just to help with the cool down, for the last mile before switching off sometimes!! (well I do have a very nice stretch of lanes on the way home :north

Let us know what Bob says mate

Standard one holds 2 litres compared to the 12 litre spec c tank.

Nope they don't actually hold that much, the reason the spec c one is 12 litres is 10 off the fuel tank and 2 off the normal spray bottle

Im pretty sure it holds more than that, its about a 10" by 8" bottle, unless the RB320 bottle is larger than the standard STi ?

Who are you getting to map your car chopperman?

I was chatting to a Spec C owner who told me that the bottle empties quite fast at the Ring.

So do EU/UK Sti's only have a manual mode then?

Manual surely can help but if you drive it hard e.g. on track you can either be driving or squirting, not both so an auto mode makes sense.

The bottle should be the same as a UK STi.

Yep, the UK model only has the manual button!

I agree, both manual & auto would be ideal

It makes it easier with a wide piece of rubber hose and a watering pot.

I must admit, when i took the photo for this thread the bottle was a lot larger than i had first thought. I thought it was only slightly larger that the opening in the boot trim but when i slipped my hand in to feel it i was surprised how big it was.

Once fitted the Spec C tank sits perfectly between the rear wheels so is balanced nicely. 12 litres of water isn't that heavy. The tank is baffled so the water doesn't 'slop' about that much.

Any difference in water temp would have a negligible effect on water spray performance.

Use a hose I fill mine when I buy fuel.

If it's so negligible then why are the uk bottles in the boot. I read they put them there to keep the water as cool as possible.
By the way im not a complete muppet, im sure i could have worked out to use a hose of something but its still more of a PITA to fill than a standard bottle. I don't need to climb in the boot or need hoses to fill mine !

I can definitely see the benefits of a larger Spec C water bottle, if I ever get an auto mode..!

Could re-route the piping to the passenger side of the dashboard and fill the bottle full of Liquor . Have your very own in car optic for when the misses is driving

Not sure where you read that did it also say that they removed the auto spray system for some performance benefit?

Barely and the fact that I only have to fill mine once for every three of your fill ups more than makes up for it
