A good message with the word 'Freedom' lighting up the crowd. They couldn't have done THAT in Beijing...

Are we going to have Team GB, or all the medallists, in front of a Freddie "We are the Champions" backdrop?

So how many street kids are now going to 'disappear' over the next 4 years, as Rio do Janiero attempts to lose its title of mugging capital of the world

Absolutely spiffing.
Sport, some of which I had no interest in until 2 weeks ago, has become a bigger part of my and my families life.
Bit of void to fill now.
Roll on the Paralympics!!

Especially the wheelchair basketball
Absolutely the most brutal, unforgiving interpretation of the word 'Sport' I personally have ever witnessed

Yes, you are.
My other half said exactly the same thing, the grumpy ******.
On another note...I've never been a 'fan'/follower of the Olympics before, and despite the fact that due to work, I haven't caught all that much of these games, I've enjoyed what I have watched and I can say I'm a bit sad that they are finished.

Not the same. You want them to still be competing. Just knowing it's still going on etc.
At least we've still got the Crips. Olymps. (SWIDT... Only kidding BTW) to go = more festivities....

The Olympics have completely changed the perception of Britain on the world stage.
Two weeks ago the world thought we sucked at sport but were great at music...
