If your running those mods and that amount of boost without the car being mapped then you've got bigger problems than just the MAF sensor mate.

My advice, get the car into a company who actually know what they are doing. It sounds like it wants a new MAF and a mapping session.

Hang on...
Simon (JGM) has looked over your car, seen all the mods and knew it was on a standard unmapped ecu and then sent you on your way ??

Are you sure ?

i was told not to run mods on mine without mapping the car. its been mapped my andrew carr in the past and i've just got a vf28 to go on it so it will go back to him once fitted for a twiddle. i've had to buy a new maf since I got the car but i'm lucky to have a few friends off the Legacy forum who have helped me out. Hope you havent thrown your ecu away coz its worth a lot coz its got the ecutek thing on it.

sounds like you've got some serious problems there. if it was mapped previously then SOMEONE has managed to access the ecu and on a 99 Sti you can only do ecutek unless there was a simtek or apexi in there.

If someone tries to remap a stock ecu you're looking at £550 straight away for a new license and mapping time.

Book the car in with a specialist.

Speculating and throwing names/ideas/advice on here is pointless.
Your car has some problems that need sorting. Bite the bullet, pay the money and get your car sorted by someone who knows them well.
