To be honest Geraint I can't abide caravans or motor homes on the road, in general they are driven by people without a clue and are quite frankly dangerous - I'm not saying there aren't some very good and consciencious caravan owners it's just most that I see are lacking the skills to drive an articulated long vehicle.

I think that they should have restricted movement hours so they don't hinder other traffic going about their business, and besides no test or licence is required other than the basic car licence.

The amount of poorly driven cars towing caravans is shocking, go to Mid or West Wales during the school holidays or even worse go over Gower and see them struggling around the lanes with their mobile roadblocks.

As for competing, it's just friendly banter as I popped into see Jarvis this evening with his Rally Day ticket & pass - now a good comparison for testing purposes would be Spec C vs 340R purely for research of course, say at the Mid Wales Run?

Spec c all the way from experience I think. The 340 I test drove didn't seem all that quick and really didn't feel like it was going to stay on the road for long. My old classic in comparison felt a lot more sure footed and driveable at speed. The 340 felt floaty and unattached to the road.
Anyhoo, good luck with your new lifestyle jarv. Didn't think you'd leave the fold.
