Sod the RS6, I had an 2002 Audi S3 (ABT tuned running dont know how many God dam horses) all over me down the dual carriage way the other day! On the straights I would not have stood a chance

RS6s and AMGs are only quick if you spend your time in their playground - dual carriageways and motorways. Choose your battle ground. These two tonne cars don't typically do well on B-roads.

Don't underestimate the RS6 (V8 or V10) on a B road unless it is really tight. Whilst the V8 is criticised for its wooden feeling steering or understeer, it has immense traction and instatorque, the autobox is effective and the brakes fantastic. If the DRC is working (or even if not in the one I drove) then there is very little wrong with its ability to cover ground even if not the last word in feel. Reliability is what put me off the V8, price/size and little saloon availability put me off the V10, but love both cars.

Have a look at the Bedford Autodrome laptimes in EVO magazine. The RS6 is just 0.4 of a second faster than a bog standard Sti hatch. Entice one down a wiggly B road and a 400bhp Subaru should leave it for dead or in a ditch!
