It would be very silly to use the reasoning behind the possible right to enter the embassy and arrest him. That reasoning is in case of some kind of terrorist activity and arresting Assange could never be justified in this case.

Despite the fact that he is said to be a difficult person to deal with, and that he is legally liable to extradition, the only real resort is to leave him where he is under the threat of instant arrest if he steps out of the embassy door.

You don't know anything about the allegations other than the vague details of their nature, yet you assume he is some sort of sex offender. It might have gone absolutely nowhere in the event he had gone to Sweden. The fact is that these allegations, however true they are and however wrong you think they are, are most likely not the reason for his avoiding going to Sweden, so the fact he isn't boarding the first plane out there isn't some kind of proof of his guilt.

The choice for him is one of prudence in avoiding the US.
I never assumed anything thank you! You were the one who said (I paraphrase) that he was a champion for someone's idea of freedom and justice, and I rhetorically replied that - given the charges - that this could only be the freedom of sex pests to do their thing, give that he is charged with crimes of a sexual nature!

The fact is that he has a case against in him Sweden and that is the only concrete fact we know, whilst you acknowledge that you the bizzarely side with fanciful ideas about conspiracies and baseless slurs about the nature and motivations of the alleged accusers. It's a shocking trivialisation of serious alleged crimes which under other circumstances I would expect you to keep a more level head about.

I am glad that thanks to Assange we know a little more about how the world's only remaining super power chooses to conduct itself, after all if they have nothing to hide why are they so intent on getting their hands on him.

As I said before best of luck to him, hope he is a majpr thorn in their (and the UK's) side for a long time to come

And a bonus point to him if it sticks ion your particular craw too

P.S. What has that crap about US technology got to do with anything?
Plenty of noise but not much signal as usual.

Whatever happens Assange will be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life. Which is a really, really terrible thing to happen to such an honest crusader for truth and justice.

Yep and who does he have to worry about being over his shoulder? The good old righteous US of A, a country who create trumped up evidence of WMDs to give them the excuse to invade and destroy a whole country. Very honest and truthful eh?

Face a rape charge in Sweden, blame WMD's for not being able to face said charge?

Of course the WMDs existed you muppet ;-), the Americans sold them to Iraq in the first place! You might want to take a look if brown-on-brown violence has been the biggest cause of death there, but I expect you won't as it would expose the RoP lie again, wouldn't it?

Wouldn't it be ironic if the broom cupboard that Assange is living in was made from American wood.... I expect his coffin will be!

I think if we exhumed the bodies the dead of Halabja we'd find 'traces' of WMD in their lungs, not to mention the dead and maimed conscripts of the Iranian army

Because he is a convenient distraction from what is really going on around the world.

People talk about change but no one actually bothers, it's more thrilling to believe a bunch of guys were able to release a load of documents that ultimately don't do **** for the poor and needy around the world.

There are far larger problems that could be resolved but instead the world focuses on some blonde haired dude on an ego trip.

It's pretty simple and very coincidental. Assanges' WikiLeaks embarrassed the USA and lets be honest, he was never going to get away with it, whether it was legal or not.

The rape charged IMO has been conjured up so that he at least pays the price for something rather than nothing.

Anyone remember the former head of the IMF Dominique Strauss-Kahn. Someone, somewhere probably wanted rid of him too and voila! He's gone.

It's a very murky world out there and we don't know 1% of the dodgy dealing between countries. Blatantly the UK is under massive pressure from the US to get this guy extradited and being best buddies that we are, we have to make the right noises.

Will making a cracking blockbuster one day!

An opinion asserting a proposition based on no evidence, only 'belief', on an act of augery? It's utterly worthless. It's like saying "in my opinion the random card you have picked from the deck is a Jack of clubs", or "Your palm tells me you will be rich" Well Gee Wizz! Is it?! And so what?

And yet you defend him and think someone who compromises UK security is some sort of hero.

I'm surprised about the child-like idealism on display by his supports which leads me to suspect their allegiances or intelligence.
transatlantic cables come into bude in cornwall in a site about 1acre and then travel through cornwall into devon and further on . christ even i know that , thats no great secret

Yes you have a perfectly good point of course.

I gather it is costing some enormous sum of money to keep all those coppers on duty over him as well.

I expect that our own politicians are terrified in case they offend the Americans and the Swedes, not to mention the Ecuadorians!

And has anyone noticed how Wikileaks has NEVER released anything about Israel (why he was lauded by Israeli officials).

If he did, god forbid what would happen, you would see him buttraped publicly by Israel and it would end up being a national holiday or something equally as moronic.

Also lets not forget Anonymous, that group seems silent when it comes to Wikileaks.

There is a strong possibility J.A released a fraction of the info he has as a warning shot and he has some powerful people (and groups) scared hence the dirty "political" tactics involved.

I remember a documentary on him from a while back where he claimed that should anything happen to him, there is a system in place that ensure all the information Wikileaks has is sent to dozens of news outlets, journalists and other people who would take notice...

Stuff like back handed deals, Libor-like financial scams, pyramid schemes etc that would highlight exactly who is in control of what, when and why (i.e. the 10% who know the 1%).

Watch a series called "The Secret of Our Streets" - particularly the last episode that really reveals a thing or two about the hidden world of the financial elite and a telling insight into Barclays.

Its all a façade designed to create this inner world where the rich and shameless can exist without being noticed to do as they wish while profiting off the consumers, i.e. us.

I just hope Wikileaks is not a puppet front and an actual attempt at waking up the public.

As for anonymous, well that is another matter, I personally think that group is a government or agency front designed to play political chess...if such a group really did exist they would be hunted down day and night without prejudice (as used to happen in the old Black Hat and White Hat days, for those that remember).

Adios.
