Just got back from Cyprus and there's a letter from the fuzz 94 in a 70. It's been sat on my mat since last week so will need to post it ASAP.

The letter states: 14 days for your car 21 days for a company car. Hopefully I'll get 3 points and £60 as 86mph is the speed awareness course.

That'll be a court summons and 5 or 6 points plus £350 fine or thereabouts I reckon..... if you're lucky!

It will probably be between 4-6 points, and 75%-125% of your weekly income as a fine.

I got a 3pointer & £60 fine for 97 on the A5 dual carriageway across Anglesey....

So you might get away with it.

I could of kissed the copper who told me that, I was doing over a ton when I crested the hill.....hahahaha

Still made the Ferry too (athough it was close!)

I had this on the link road between Cardiff and the M4; he showed me the footage and I was doing 106mph at one point. He asked me what I did and I said sales manager and he looked around the vehicle and asked if it was a company car to which I replied yes. He then gave me 3 points and a £60 fine. As you say, I could've kissed him as a ban would've been horrific. He said my lane discipline and braking distances were sound and that it was clear that I spent a fair amount of time on the road. He was almost apologetic when he gave the ticket. Top bloke!

you'd get away with a speed awareness for 50 in a 40, 72 in a 60.

CPS guidlines are summons at 96+, anything lower "should" be a fixed penalty (£60 and 3 points)

Yeah - my welsh copper was a top bloke too - he knew we were late for the ferry - I came clean straight away and told him I was rushing to catch the ferry, made of a joke of it & said I bet you get loads here, he agreed, that's why he was there!. He was nice, I was nice, and he didn't attempt to delay me in any way - gave me a ticket & let me get on my way ASAP.

Nice experience (in a funny sort of way!)

n.b Gixxer - 117mph - that's a big in any copper's book, you goin' down with Bubba (not Po!)

Take the points - all money from awareness courses go to new speed cameras.

If the car is registered to you, what date was the allege offense, and the date on the nip?

If you have a company car when did they get the first nip?

I think you probably need a speedo awareness course

Was this in a temporary roadwork stretch or haven't you been caught for driving like a hero through them yet?

i thought it said in the highway code that you are allowed to exceed the speed limit in order to safely overtake slower moving vehicles for up to a 1/4 of a mile.but must reduce speed to inside the limit straight away after making the manouver. poss defence if it goes to court

Highway code is just that, a code, not law. Speeding is an absolute offence' 1 mph over the limit is breaking the law.
