The Samsung does look very similar, but some features such as the spring back is on a lot of other Android phones too. Apple are also guilty of stealing features from Android, pull down notifications? They all copy each other, who cares. It means iOS phones get better and Android phones get better. Some things I agree with, but patenting double tap to zoom and such things, really??

2 days to go through and answer 700 questions? My ****! ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
Couldn't give a toss either way, but joe public will be the main losers in all of this, not samsung.
What I don't get is Apples greed. They already have the market share and even they must realise that competition is healthy. Surely all cars are copies, all vacuum cleaners, all flat screen televisions, Christ, every ****ing bog rolls!
The whole situation really does show how stupid the human race is becoming.

Yes, all cars have four wheels, but if you park them next to each other it's pretty clear which is which, Samsung blatantly copied Apple hardware and software and needed a slap for it.

Shock!! An American court rules in favour of an American company against a far eastern company and throws out all their counter claims. South Korean courts rules Samsung did not copy iPhone. How all very patriotic. At least here in UK the courts are bit more impartial.

If Apple made cars, they would have slapped a patent on it having 4 wheels and rectangular windscreens.

It *could* of course work out negatively (bar the $1bn!) on Apple, with Apple being seen as the big bully corporate (no one likes a bully!) and makes a great advertisement for Samsung with uninitiated consumer. The American courts have ruled that Samsung are the *same* as Apple, but with Samsung being less expensive and better value for money.......far fetched? Perhaps, but I guess we'll find out in the coming months to see how it will pan out....

I can see enough of a difference between the two to know that they're from different manufacturers. It's all very well looking at the images, but when you see them in the flesh and hold them in your hand, the differences are clear as evidenced with the UK ruling. The thing is Samsung also make many more devices that do not resemble any iProducts and some of their products may also resemble devices from their other competitors and theirs with Samsung. It's a shame that Apple prefer to compete with other manufacturers through the courts rather than through their products. It's no coincidence that Samsung just happens to be Apple's competitor.

Apple don't compete with anyone. They release innovative hardware with innovative software and others try to match it. Take a look at laptops, they nearly all look like MacBooks, and there are 1,000,000,000 green pieces of paper that prove their phones are copied.
