Their exhausts ate just as bad ... Id swear that they have never actually seen a Subaru in the flesh by the build quality and the 1 inch gap in the middle of the exhaust system where the pipes don't reach each other cos they are fouling on almost every part of the underside that they possibly could.

awaits call from toyosport... Lol

i agree with David in the fmics too.

I'd certainly agree on the later Autobahn Classic intercooler kits, not so sure I would on the Japspeed Newage kit though.
They may not be as good as the likes of the Perrin or APS kits (Hardly suprising when they cost 5 times as much), however they certainly work well enough up to 450bhp, especially when you consider they only cost as much as a second hand STi topmount.
If you're going for really big power, you'd not be running either cheap headers or a cheap intercooler

Default Who's UP-Pipe 'design'

Martyn J (or anyone else in the know) - Have the RCM up-pipes now followed Harvey's (RIP) design or similar? That seemed to be the suggestion earlier on in the thread that the RCM ones would be revised/updated etc?

It's all about spool and low/mid range torque for me (hopefully)! Nod Nod Wink Wink

There are always options for up pipes and the design, diameter, etc; are really engine specific. Harvey did a huge amount of work on up pipes and has produced one that works better than the standard - as supplied - up pipe with the Gt specs on most cars

But to just buy something ***** nilly and fit it cos " it is better " would prove nothing. If you want it right it has to be on rollers and the spool curves analysed. Then fit a different one and try again. If you're bothered, it'll take a whole day on the rollers to do that..

If a car is late spooling [ laggy most people call it ] the a venturi type up pipe ought to increase gas speed and improve spool, but it isn't an exact science.

One size definitely doesn't fit all.
David

Its not just big power Martyn - it is even reasonable power.

From what I have seen the limit of the toyosport equal length headers is 220 ish bhp. The limit of their unequal length versions seems to be 290bhp. Hardly big power.... and in all cases the cars made around 40-100bhp more on std headers.
